Have been watching since baby squat days and fun fact the 14-18 gm trucks do actually show v4 to v8 mode and its at the bottom of the fuel economy screen, just an icon that goes from a green v4 and changes to a blue v8. Would love to see that generation truck back on the channel in the future! Personally have a 17’ Sierra myself!

You are very right about the “it happens or it doesn’t”. I had an 09 Silverado 1500 with a 5.3 and have a lifter failure at 145k miles. I currently have a 09 Pontiac G8 GT with a 6.0 it now has 197k miles with factory afm intact. I have had this same disabler in the G8 for the past 11 months and 14k miles so far with no issues.

I have a 07 max, luckily had the delete done before I bought it. Trans went out in it and I put a built trans in it, that should hold up to 500hp. I have very pleased with it. Shift hard and feels great, good power.

My 2016 4.3 has AFM. I have 63,000 miles and still running great. You don't hear much about AFM problems with the v6's but mines still doing great. Only way I know it's switching is either I see it on the dash, or I can hear it in the exhaust since I have an MBRP Catback.

I had a 2014 ram 1500 5.7 Hemi. It had that same thing. They call it MDS. It was a 8 speed transmission. If you put it in manual 8th gear once you get on the highway it turns the 4 cyl mode off when manual shifting.

One of the reasons I don’t buy a GM vehicle. Because you would think by now 2025 they would fix that issue but they have not and it’s sad. I’ll stick to my Toyotas. Anyway, love the content.

I have a Range for 07 Chevy Silverado and I love it. I’ve had it for about three years now and no issues. I live in California and we have smog checks every other year, so I have to disconnect the range and drive around for a week to reset the sensors. Then I can smog it. That’s California for you😢 Once I pass I reinstall it start all over again. Not a big deal.

I had a range afm disabler before and it worked great. Only reason I got rid of it is because I got a good deal on a superchips tuner that allows me to turn off afm and a lot more. But they work great if you only want to turn off afm.

I use to have a 2015 silvvwrado. I had a diablo tuner on it. I'll mail it to you if you could somehow use it. You can use to to deactivate afm, read codes, and do tunes

I put a AFM Disabler on my truck 2011 Silverado 1500 5.3, made my trans clunk when down shifting and when i would step on the gas right after letting off. Took it off and it stopped doing it. The TCM is not tuned for the torque of having v8 mode on all the time.

I have a 09 Silverado 1500 LT Z71 with the 5.3L. Currently, 203k miles and it’s on its second broken transmission 😩 when the guy rebuilt it, he replaced my clutches when he should’ve replaced my torque converter too especially since he dropped my transmission… and so my torque converter finally shredded itself towing from Oklahoma to Texas (I moved and towed like 3k, it was LIGHT WORK till an hour and a half later during traffic, a bunch of starting and stopping)

I have a 2017 Silverado I bought used with 46,000 mi the first thing I did was install the range technologies AFM delete module. That was over two years and over 20,000 miles ago not an issue. Go figure they come out with a cheaper option! Lol

My neighbor had a GMC and a guy I worked with had a Chevy 6.0 and they both had to buy new motors because of AFM. It makes the lifters stick or something. Causing the engine to starve for oil.

Got rid of my 2017 5.3L because of the AFM. Traded it in for a 2016 2500HD with the 6.0L (Absolutely NO afm or dod). I didn’t think the 6.0 had afm whatsoever, must just be a 1500 half ton deal.

I just checked and you are correct GMT-900 6.2L pickups didn't have AFM. Nor does my 2009 silverado 2500hd with the 6.0l same for all the 2500 vans with the 6.0l

The Pulsar won't effect your warranty, you can just remove before dealer maintenance. If you don't need the extra features of the Pulsar, this little $80 plug and play is a better option. I've ran the Pulsar on my '21 6.2 since day 1, it's been great.
