Dual battery is to compensate for keeping everything on one battery platform when needing higher voltage to make the tool work. Ryobi has a 40v 20" chainsaw, that isn't much different than this, outside of using a 40v battery. Ryobi and ridgids 18v chainsaws stop at 12", milwaukees fuel is 16". You also have to realize how much flak makita is getting for the 40v line and how milwuakee can avoid it simply by keeping everything m18. Dewalt and metabo hpt had the right idea of making multi-volt batteries, which also solve this issue of higher voltage requirements on a single battery, but I'm not sure m18 was ever designed with multi voltage in mind.

20 minutes for battery as expensive as the MX is ludicrous lmao

For a chainsaw I feel like fuel is the right way to no. Not battery powered.

The real problem with electric is the fact that these companies think it’s still fine to use the Gillette model for batteries. I just picked up two ego 6 Ah batteries, saved $150, and got a free two port charger at 800 CFM backpack blower! ;) The simple fact of the matter is that batteries do not have the energy density of gasoline so you need a pile of them and be charging 3,4,$500 for a single battery is completely insane. I absolutely despise small engines with every fiber of my being, so I’m all for electric everything and the downsides that come with it, but the only batteries I’ve been getting have been included with kits because it’s literally the same price as just buying the batteries. (Or LESS as I mentioned) It’s more tolerable when you’re paying two dollars for a $.30 razor cartridge but paying $500 for $150 battery doesn’t flow through the pocketbook the same way.

I would burn through so many batteries doing my yard lol. And most of my property I'd wooded and I don't touch that

@ToolReviewZone I think the tools have evolved beyond the batteries again. Like when they tried tk have circ saws on the nicades lol

For the occasional use homeowner who lets their saw sit for a long time battery is the way to go. If you let those fuel powered saws sit they gum up and don't run right. Pop a fresh battery in and it's ready to go.

$900.00 for a heavy chainsaw, I bet we don't see those flying off the shelves. And that giant battery for the blower. Charlie: Hey Clint why are you so worn out? Clint: I've been using those heavy ass Milwaukee tools, call 911.

But compared to a typical gas powered chain saw it is probably a good bargain. But as for me I prefer the sound of a gas powered chain saw, all day, every day. (Not that I ever used any of them, lol)

That's in the price range to compete with Stihl battery chainsaws. Wonder how well they'll sell.

The mx fuel blower makes absolutely no sense, the m18 backpack is already so close, and ego's pro kit is miles ahead of both for 900 dollars and it comes with 2 batteries and has 2 active battery ports. Ego has also come out with a 6 port 1500w charger, that essentially replicates the built in charger for their zero turn, and it's daisy-chain-able. The mx fuel batteries are 72v, while ego is 50.4v, and the mx has access to 21700 tabless cell batteries while the ego is limited to 18650s. There's no reason ego should be ahead with a 2 year old product. Even greenworks for that matter has more powerful 54 and 72v backpack blowers than this mx. Overall it will be a doa compliance product, their own m18 blower will do way better in the market

You're not wrong. I have no issue with said death. My issue that it is being FORCED instead if letting the market do it through a "superior" product, which electric currenly IS NOT.
