when a car has an available V10 or V12, it means the V8 option gives you plenty of room under the hood to work.
@robertisaar19 күн бұрын
I wouldn't say plenty. Audi D3 A8/S8 could have 6, 8, 10 or 12 cylinders depending on the market. The 8 still doesn't have much room, but the 6 does. The 10 and 12 fit in with non-euclidian physics.
@jordanimatedstreaming19 күн бұрын
@@robertisaar relatively speaking, of course. a v8 won't get you any easier access to the rearward cylinders on either bank (assuming we are talking a longitudinally mounted front engine setup) but it can make access to serpentine belt and other accessories easier, and can mean the difference between some jobs being engine out/a whole different world of difficulty.

ANY Porsche 981/991. These are basically the same car from the rear edge of the door forward, and have an outstanding repair record. I've had a '14 981 Cayman S PDK for six years now and the only thing I have done to it is to replace the tires. It has 71K miles, and Consumer Reports magazine says that these have Toyota like reliability. I paid $40k for it in 2018, and it's value today is still higher than that. The one NOT to buy is Tyler's off road 996......

@Flies2FLL16 күн бұрын
@@mitul.323 The bore scoring has been found to be caused by running the car hard when it is cold. There is a blue line on the temperature gauges and as long as you stay below 3000 RPM and half throttle until the temps pass this line (A few minutes, or about one mile typically) this is never a problem. And only a few cars have had the selector position sensor problem in the PDK, the vast majority are trouble free and it largely prevents over-rev incidents. Versions of this engine rev to 9000 RPM and money shifts in the manual transmission cars are far more of a problem.
