JChown, you're a hero. This has been a complete game changer for me. Finally by backswing feels right and connected, and allows me to transition nicely into my downswing. I have spent so much time (a solid year) trying to sort my backswing out and the problem has always been that i'm simply lifting my arms too much, even with rotation. My backswing (having recorded it) now actually visially looks more like tour pros. Thanks so much!!

My issue like most amateurs is an under the plane swing with too much lifting late in the swing, and then over the top. So focusing on lifting arms early for me is exactly what helps me,

Hi John, interesting video. What about those of us that are way too flat in the back swing? I have to lift the arms as I overturn my body naturally. The lifting after position one has been achieved makes my swing effortless and on plane with tonnes of compression on the ball. I suppose it’s all relative as we all different biometrics as you mentioned. Great content 👍

good job. very simple to follow. it makes a lot of sense and very little bit of body turn to 90 degree and follow thru. Thank u very much. outstanding instructor. Later..

Hey, take a look at Freddie Couples’ swing. He doesn’t move his lower body to start his swing. He lifts his arms straight up, and when he gets to the top, he rotates his shoulders and his hips and swings hard through.

I happen to be a 1 handicap, and I do the exact same thing as Freddie. I wish I looked as smooth and hit it as beautifully as him, but I do pretty well in my own rite.

All pro golfers lift the upper left arm from. perpendicular to the ground to parallel. to the ground at the end of the backswing. You also lift your humerous even more than 90 degrees.

What about the old-fashioned way of putting a head cover under the trail armpit to keep the arms and torso in sync so that the back swing would be less steep and have more depth?

It’s a good drill but doesn’t fix the root cause of the issue with body turn sequencing

You definitely lifted your arms more after the takeaway or is this just feeling you have ?

Watched this vid just to see you try to hit a shot with your hands that high!!! You thinned it.

Yeah... don't swing it like Jim Furyk and Matt Wolff, they can do this way but way to hard and inconsistent for everybody else.
