This really may be the most important swing video out. I’ve realized this take away and back swing sets up everything else perfectly and it’s easier to focus on the takeaway rather than finding the face from the top and trying to get it on plane and square it up for impact
@MarkSmith-lz5rk Жыл бұрын
Absolutely, honestly once you're at your hip the backswing is essentially done, the only thing left is a tiny bit of turn to the top, but takeaway sets it all up

I’ve struggled with an inside takeaway the last few months and its caused a lot of hooky misses left. I only realized after watching this video and rehearsing in a mirror how inside it really is. Great video
@THE_A.RAVEN12 жыл бұрын
I’m a 1.7hcp and for two seasons now I have even disgustingly inside out as well. This video made the sensations tangible for me so I can attempt to get myself back on plane and firing down the line. Huge struggles but I see the light at the end of the tunnel. While it is a better players’ miss, striking the ball from the inside can be pure torture for consistent ball strikers.
@pbode19 ай бұрын
As someone that unconsciously took the club inside for 20 years, these Porzak videos are pure gold. I actually need to push quite agressively down the handle at takeaway to keep the clubhead in front of me. Starting drills on this 2 weeks ago. For me, the feel is: 1) the clubhead rocketing up so fast that I simply have no time to take it inside and 2) increased great sensation of width while having the uneasy sensation of sticking the club up vertically. Took a couple of slo mo videos of myself today in this drill, and when I have the wrist set at lead arm parallel, the shaft angle is at 60 degrees (filmed down the line), where it used to be barely 35. In transition I still manage to shallow it out to a what is probably still a functional 55 degrees (self assessment as functional as the ball flights are pretty great) That trust I am developing with this new backswing seems to quiet my wrists down too in the downswing (always had been using a lot of wristy compensations to compensate for the backswing flaw), which I find really intriguing - I guess the body responds naturally to these things if the movement just lasts the odd 0.3 seconds.

What a great video!! The bit that hit home for me was hands moving outside/along the toe line. Its helped me find the feel of the perfect set of the club which has been so illusive. I played terribly yesterday, implemented this today and played so well, night and day difference. This is what ive been searching for, a move off the ball that will "automatically" set the club up where it feels like the club stays in front of me, rather than going too deep/flat around me Subscribed and very happy i found you mate! THANK YOU! i need to buy you dinner 😂

It looked like wrist cocking but was wrist hinging in the actual takeaway. But initiated by pushing down. Once you get it you get it.
