Never have anything on the strap of your BA, some people put watches on there too. Real snagging hazard.... thanks for sharing 😊

Good stuff, I actually have one on my skirt loop, helps grabbing the skirt to put it on of off

I would not run one there either in a swim and a throw being used could clip in to something

Modern praxis - run a clean rope in your throwbag (no knot on the tail that can wedge between rocks) and don't clip to anything that can't be easily released.

That’s an excellent point on the no not rope

@@WadeHarrison Stuff we all used to do (like creeking in full slice boats) that actually wasn't a very good idea and now we don't. Make life easier, learn from other people's misadventures.

I have seen swimmers get clipped on to the grab handle of their rescuers kayak because of this. Sadly very common in Euro-club land.

Oh wow crazy never thought of that. Thanks for the feedback

Its not only this issue. The carabiner wont stay still while paddling - therefore it is really easy to injure yourself or even loose your teeth. Especially by running some drops, where you got your head low. Sorry for my english.

I heard that same thing from a guy that actually happened to said he has a chipped tooth running a drop and the carabiner flew up on landing and busted his lip and chipped front tooth and was thinking to himself why in the world was running one there in the shoulder strap?

Thanks for the safety tips wade…..can you link the video of you making the red sling with the two carabiners? Can’t seem to find it.

Years ago i remember a guy who had a carabiner there and caught his wrist watch with it and basically cuffed his hand to his shoulder. Then dumb ass me, biner in the same place, got clipped to a raft while in my c-1. Don't do it!
@WadeHarrison3 ай бұрын
Oh wow that’s a first how crazy that to get a watch band locked up like that

So, clipping the paddle - I never heard of this - Is that for a lost paddle in the water or for holding onto yours as you swim?
@WadeHarrison3 ай бұрын
Yeah like hold one in place or something like lower one down to someone stuck somewhere that might have broken theirs ect
