Your boys are going to THANK YOU for teaching them “how to live!” When my son went away for college & moved into his apartment, he THANKED me for teaching him how to cook, clean & do laundry! Your boys will totally APPRECIATE it! 😊

Yes. So important. Oliver says he wants to be a cook when he grows up, and he's already learning how to responsibly handle chef knives and chop. He helps us cook all the time. I recently told him that he seems responsible enough to cook a meal on his own-- as long as I'm there monitoring & encouraging hehe.

@racheltalbott4 жыл бұрын
@@rikketakera I'm so sorry! I know there are many different degrees of pain, anxiety, and depression. It's so hard for anyone to truly understand what someone else is feeling. I've certainly had bouts of depression and anxiety, but as a perfectionist, of course I always tried to hide it and act like everything was perfect. I had a little postpartum after both my kids, and felt like I was just living in a fog. I think it was hormonal and out of my control, but I hated feeling that way. Last year I was having so many weird health issues and doctors couldn't figure it out. I started feeling A LOT better this year, and I tried a few different things I think helped me personally, but again, it's so hard to speak to anyone elses pain without being a professional .. I'm sending you all the love and light in the world!

Also Rachel, I can SO relate to never ending laundry and procrastinating the job as well. Since quarantine, I’ve been on top of it more so bc I have been home. I am an elementary school teacher- husband and our 3 kids. I I really have trouble staying on top of laundry during the school/work week- Saturday seems to be my day of clean house and errands, and so laundry gets tossed to Sunday- and it seems to take up the entire day. I’ve tried different ways to get a bit more done M-F. like just laundering towels. I like how you mentioned trying to enjoy the task bc you might as well to make the most of it- and so I consider folding laundry more of a "me time" to work on while watching favorite tv shows. My least favorite part of laundry is putting everything up! I try to do it right away, but I’m not consistent.
@Kleomenides864 жыл бұрын
Your method of folding laundry seems perfect...they only different thing I try to do is folding the load while the laundry is still warm: it keeps almost all the wrinkles away and it works even for the laundry you put to dry outside :) I love your videos, they are very relaxing, fun and you always learn something.

I don’t have laundry access, I have to go to the laundromat, but I relate to dumping piles of clean laundry on the bed to sort and fold. Normally I pull shirts as they come out of the dryer and hang them, but with the pandemic I rather put my laundry right into the hamper from the dryer and bring home to sort, I steam the wrinkles out of shirts.
