Same exact thing here. I'm desperate to fix my schedule. Sometimes I'll stay awake like 35 hours (a miserable experience) Then I'll go to bed at like 9 pm, attempting to fix my sleep schedule, but I'll wake up 2 hours later and my body won't let me go back to sleep until 5 am, keeping my schedule the same. It's been that way for the past 2 years and I can't even function the right way during daylight hours anymore. I'm stuck.

This resonates so much! My housemate is asleep and awake at completely random times during a 24h cycle. All the momentum and all the habits I painstakingly integrated for years are slowly being eroded by his activities. I'm doing my best to find another place but until then I'm slowly losing it to entropy.

As someone who's watched your channel for a little over 3 years, I haven't been feeling your recent videos. I didn't dislike them, but they weren't resonating with me like you have been able to in the past. The closest one to relevance for me was the information constipation one, but even that one was only mildly revelatory. This one was a return to form, and resonated deep with where I am now. You have reminded me why I keep coming back to your channel. As someone who was raised with a fixed mindset, watching you has helped me adopt a growth mindset and begin to value the work more than the result, and more importantly, to value myself in all my stages. Thank you. I appreciate you.

been out of school for a few years now. i'm a digital artist working in the comic book industry so i get to work at home. sleeping pattern was fucked i'm back home with mum and she wants me to work for her company too which i really wanna do but i sleep at 5am and wake up mid day.. or rather i did. i fixed it in one long hard day. slept 2 hours, muscled through the day (i hate coffee so.. that doesnt help) and 9:30, crashed. best night of sleep. work up at 6 without my alarm. and, as elliot says, steps - you cant fix your life in a day. fixed my sleeping pattern. not my whole life. just my sleeping pattern and i promise, EVERYTHING is falling into place. i'll be travelling soon and again, sleeping pattern. one of my friends complained about the fact that i have no rules... i just float through thte day aimlessly. the only thing constant in my life is my art, cuz it's my job. it's how i feed myself, but making going to bed - turning OFF my phone and laptop and being in bed by 9:30, whether i'm tired or not sharp, my only one rule (for now) has already begun to sort things out. whatever it is, wherever it is. 9:30, BED. that's myy one commandment i dont break and by extention, other rhythms, consistencies, principles and convictions slowly take form. another is not eating after a certain time. i dont eat at the "right times"... breakfast, lunch and dinner. if i'm not hungry i dont force myself to eat, but because my sleeping pattern is sorted, i'm starting to eat more consistently... sleep is so key yo. you have no idea

Dear Elliot, I am so happy to see you talk about life. I did go through tough time where my body was in pain from wear and tear over the years. I did not know where I was heading but I discovered a light in the dark. I was 28 when I decided I have to do something about my life and start doing yoga to fix my body. I couldn't sneeze standing up without going down on my knee to suppress the shocking pain I couldn't bear. I was so scared that I was going to be like this for the rest of my life. Yoga became my best friend. I realized being flexible and calm is essential to be happy in my life. I was 9 years old when I was this pain free as of now. I never took care of myself but it only took 4 years to be pain free and relaxed. What I'm lacking is strength. I am not a dedicated person unless I am interested. Discipline is only there when I'm doing yoga and playing the guitar. You make me feel powerful, strong, and self-centered. I really missed seeing you chat about life. I still remember the video you made about taking care of yourself for over 40. I ordered Livingfuel and enjoy the sensation of feeling great. You have been an inspirational teacher that I looked up to since I started my journey to stronger self. This video was so powerful it will be rememberred in my soul for good. Thank you for being an amazing person and I hope to see more of your videos. Thank you.

Great video Elliott. I know you didn't discuss this in the video, but as I'm watching, I realize there is a reason I cannot, **I cannot**, break this depressive state I'm in. I've got my physical-self in order, as you can see in my profile picture. I've dropped from a fat, unhealthy 195 pounds to a lean 165. This video Elliott, may have inspired me to change my life. I have realized what depression is. As a child, I didn't believe it existed. It's been four months. Four months since I lost my job. Four months since I was broken up with. Four months since I moved half-way across the country. *Four months since my depression began.* I have not escaped this state. I stay up until 2am, 3am, 4am. I stay in bed while the sun is beaming through my window. I thought four months ago, I would simply become happy again. I have fought every single day to fix myself. The hour I lost the grip on my life, I went to challenge myself and began walking immediately. I got so far away from home, I didn't know if I would make it back. I'm still making that walk. The thoughts in my head haven't disappeared. To get my mind back and become psychologically happy, I need to take control of my sleep. What I'm going to do, starting now, is quit the internet and mobile device usage. There's going to have to be exceptions, but I'm going to minimize it. I'm going to allow standard texting and calling. I'm going to use my phone as a phone. I'm going to delete the apps that consume my life. I'm going to quit youtube, sorry Elliott. No more facebook, snapchat, instagram. These addictions cannot effect me anymore. I realize to quit an addiction, I need to replace it, so I'm going to do meth, kidding, but I'm going to read. I'm in college, so I'll embrace the resources surrounding me. It's time, it has been time. I hope to thank-you some day. Your words have always been powerful to me.

My (ex)wife of 8yrs left me and my daughters to move in with another man about a year and a half ago. I watched you regularly, Elliott, was 10.5% body fat @ 6'2 195lbs, and thought my relationship was in the best place ever. Against my knowledge, I began drinking (moderately) every night, staying up till 2am, couldn't keep my exercise regimen and wouldn't control my diet. I've had dips and peaks since, but am just starting to feel like I'm really recovering. What you say really rings true with me, as your previous videos did. Accept the dip, accept change, look forward, and most of all, get sleep and keep at least a modest exercise regimen. It's amazing how much of a difference those make in being able to come out of the dip and realign. Thanks for the video.

Sounds like a cheesy cliche, but cliches are often repeated because they're true..don't give up, keep following the path. When things really don't feel right make the change you think is necessary. Main thing is don't waste time, unless you really feel you need a break to reflect on things. But time is precious. All the best things in life are achieved gradually over time, so just keep going and remember you need to taste the sour in life sometimes so the sweet tastes ever sweeter.

Yo, Elliott! Question from your buddy Benjamin, here. I suppose you receive a lot of questions and might not pick mine, but here I go. I'm 19 years old and in College, I've been following your teachings on Strength Camp and your Elliott Hulse channel for 3 years now. You have guided me to self-developing myself to empower others in numerous ways. Last year, my father was diagnosed with cancer, and 6 months after that, he passed away. He was 57. Due to this emotional struggle, I'm not having an easy time going to bed on time and waking up in the morning. To the point where is affecting my performance in daily life. I feel like I get carried away by my heart's desire to do so much at the same time because I feel like I might die young like my dad. This is leading to stress and little to no time for resting and having fun. I would like to hear your advice on how to effectively manage my time and pick the right goals. Maybe some key thoughts to find a balance between my Magician, Warrior, Lover, and King. Thank you! :)

Tough thing that has happened to you, dude. All I can tell you is that stress is your worst enemy. Don't aim at doing many things at the same time, at least not untill you recover from all that stress, lack of sleep, overthinking and all those stuff which I'm sure you're quite familiar with. Doing as much as you can and striving to live " the perfect and most well balanced life" in order not to regret anything, in itself stresses out your mind and body. Just tell yourself "you know what, I'm gonna live my life just plain and simple", do what you like the most - pick 1 or 2 things and go steady.

Great video. I go through these cycles of god mode and depression but they are really fast like week to week. And you made me realize i don't eat, sleep, meditate, work out or pretty much anything on a consistent routine....thanks again.

Hey Elliott, great video man!! This video of yours popped up on my KZbin page as a recommended video today. And I just happened to be a bit depressed. So I checked it out. Wasn't sure about the kind of athletic aggressive approach at first and then your genuine warm-hearted character and life wisdom spoke to me. And especially your sense of humor. I laughed a few times when you hit some points on the head! Looking forward to more of your videos brother! :))

It's weird. As excited as I've been for Elliot to be back to this style of video I find myself procrastinating on watching the videos and soaking the information in the way I used to - more hesitant to listen. But after listening, it's like a breath of fresh fuckin air. Thanks E

StoneCold yes there is a difference from depression and being sad. Telling someone who haves a depression disorder to be happy is like telling a blind man to just look. Sadness is something you get over. You cant just tell you're brain to produce serotonin properly.

Eliott has been my guide since 2013! I liked the old Eliott and I like the new one. At every stage of my own evolution, your words seem to resonate with what I go through (despite the fact we're living in two different places on this planet) and I always think to myself "this is f*kin amazing!". Thank you E.

Your'e spot on. We got to have these small things, these small rituals to keep us sane during hard times. The routines of whatever it is we do - meditation, training, reading... this is the light that guides us in the storm. And if we let to loose and throw it away too much, too often, it WILL make us feel lost. As if we lost control over our lives. Not that we ever have control over our lives, but sometimes it's just about feeling as if we have a grip.

I used to be so depressed. but when I stopped complaining and realised how blessed I am and how blessed I've been my entire life it like slowly went away. I still need a lot of improving to do but now I'm pretty okay, have good friends, etc. My daily routine now is rlly busy and can be tiring, I have to get so much done but it's a good feeling. I don't think happiness is about what happens to us but how we deal w things

AND like you said you need to realise you're always growing as a person and that & you're probably not the same person or think the same as you did a year ago. bc we're always going through something, having new experiences, discovering new things about ourselves & w that we change. I know I've changed a lot and for the better.

The part of your face where you're third eye chakra is supposed to be, is like bright as hell, like i get that it's from a light, but still it's like extra reflective right there, wonder if that has any significance. edit: I posted this like 5 minutes into the video then you started talking about third eye later how crazy.

That's an interesting observation, but other factors play into it as well. Like Elliott's got other priorities now that he's more famous. Another factor is competition on youtube in this domain. He implies his decline in video even 22:40 but he realizes he's just at a different moment in time.

This is so true, I never realized how screwed up my rhythms were until I went to Marine Corps boot camp, they set it straight in less than 3 days. When it was time for chow, I was ready to eat, couldnt get enough. When it was time for sleep, i passed the hell out. When it was time to get up, I hit the ground running and never felt so good in my life. That I believe had a lot to do with the physical gains I made in that 12 weeks.
