I'm a CAR fan with JDMs on the top of my lists, but, lets be fair, if that sexy-ass beast of a Camaro had hook up........, that Rotary Datsun didn't stand a snicker of a chance, and that's being real. People are here disputing on "the Camaro jumped", or "the Datsun engine isn't big enough ", the point is, they both taught it was a good matchup, and went for it. Quinton Williams we run blowers all the time. Prep, no prep, street etc. that whole hit was doomed before it even started. Not sure if the line lock failed, they needed to put water down or the wrong VHT. When your talking the kind of power either of these cars make, leaving early, as the Camaro clearly did, by almost a full second (the milisecond his rear tires flexed he left weather moving or not). A second with this power is huge. I'd go so far to say on a prepped track, the Rotary would still win in a fair race. Camaro has shit suspension, that's clear to see. Nice looking car with a lot of ponies under the hood for sure though. Problem is, if you can't make them ponies stick to the ground they count for nothing.

That Camaro wishes it was only a 10 second car. Then he wouldn’t need those pesky wheelie bars or parachute. Imo that’s likely an 8 second ride. To be required by NHRA to have a chute you’ve gotta pull 150mph in a 1/4...I think IHRA is the same but unsure of their rules

Wow! that is a VERY CLOSE finish (if you go by the RED CONES) at the end of the track i believe it is one for a PHOTO FINISH or RE RUN the race again or best out of 5 races. Either way it would be another Huge Monster against a tough solider

I remember watching a video a while back of a drag race where the driver lost control during the burnout and hit into the crowd and killed someone.. from memory i think it was a legit event but there was not enough barriers and crowd was too close... the driver was charged with manslaughter.. but the organisers didnt cop anything.. i love drag racing but i think it should always be on the track.. doesnt matter how good a driver you are.. too many things can go wrong

Think the Camaro had let off the gas and was working to correct that wobble when the Mazda passed. If this had been a proper drag strip, he wouldn't have had a curb 2 feet away to worry about and could have pushed it more.

Damn. from going frame by frame, the 2 were side by side about 5 feet from the cones and won by maybe 2 feet. mazda was haulin ass!

Where was the finish line? A car is only as fast as the driver's ability to keep it between the lines! Camaro got the holeshot but, depending on where the finish line was the mazda may have gone around him on the big end! Camaro got pretty squirrelly every time the driver tried to get back into it. Fun to watch! 👍
