Without question the best online golf instructor I’ve seen. Clear explanation, clear demonstration, very relatable and doesn’t rely on “golf” jargon. So cool that he uses players with different skill levels. This a man that LOVES golf.

Came off the golf course earlier today, hit some magnificent shots, but I could not consistently replicate what I was doing!!. I'm left handed and I would sometimes hit beautiful shots, but they would move strongly to the right. Sitting thinking about the day, clicked on the tube and what do you know!!!! You hit it right on the doornail!!. I don't know why I wasted so much time following other guys!!! The golf swing is so deceitful, you explain things so well, no wonder you have so many great students!!!! Thank You

For months I missed left my crucial shots. Today I hammered the nail every approach shot and I finally turned in 8 pars and 2 birdies (hitting the flagstick from 130 yds…) without blowing up holes, for my lowest score in months. This and all your short game videos are getting me back on track: I can’t thank you enough, Adam.

HI, just stumbles on to your channel,, love the technical detail you build for a foundational swing and how it works in it's simplicity. I'm no longer flexible, nimble nor young ( 63yrs,, 8 hc,, aiming to go scratch) but i am building a swing with the key points you highlight,, from my swing that draws a lot due to a baseball grip (left hand nerve damage forces me to use it,,and always right hand dominate.), the grip will not change but I'm trying to retrain my left hand/arm to keep the swing solid. and issues with the back swing, but there is progress, thanks for your insight.

Your page showed up in my feed with a wedge lesson. Liked everything you were teaching as I have been working on similar mechanics with more rotation and less arm and hand action. However, this video did it for me with the hammer and nail drill because it brought back a remembrance how I use to release the club. I took it to the range session before my round yesterday and worked on it and it took the severe left miss out from an early release and I picked up some significant distance with no additional effort from feeling like I was supinating the left knuckles down as well and hitting on top of the ball. Your video is the best I found on rotation, keeping the arms in front of the body, the hammer and nail release, and the left hip rotating left and back. I have been dealing with the two-way miss because of getting stuck and flipping. I noticed the harder I go at it with the longer clubs the straighter the ball flies. Not so with wedges as a 75% shot seems to go just as far with better trajectory as the high loopy full swing. Good stuff!

"Left hand dominant"..what a term that is, I've been so focused on trying to keep my trail elbow tucked in and have my right shoulder working under me that I've become right hand dominant. That one term is a game changer for me.

Love this feel (and your channel) but how do you stop your dominant hand (right hand for me) from taking over. I have a real hard time being able to pull with my left arm down and through the ball. If pull with my left arm I feel I open my shoulders up and cut across the ball.

Quit golf for 7 years (kids) was once a 2. Playing to a 12 without iron and wedge consistency and I have been feeling like the head is getting to impact before hands and I’ve been hitting some pretty large draws. Looking forward to trying to get back to a better release point with this hammer drill. I suspect I’ve been also disconnected and getting stuck. Been working on takeaway and it’s made a huge difference (10-10) as I was under the plane and flipping on takeaway. Might also try to speed up my hands as well. Would like to get out of this draw funk and hit cuts again. Thanks and looking forward to this.

A fantastic swing for sure; but for this young man I think the fewer instructions the better. Thinking of shaking hands/ holding the tray for the backswing and then skipping the rock with our trail side as we pull down with our lead arm is impossible to think about. These actions combining these mix actions of involving a conscious push or a pull our brain can only conceive of a pushing or a pulling of something; but, never the two together as both together actually equal the same. Cheers

Question, do you do the nail drill, with the driver. Or just irons. Cheers from new zealand.
@PorzakGolf2 жыл бұрын
With the driver the mail would be the ball and the hammer would be the club head!
@user-yo2tr8lu6y2 жыл бұрын
Would this hammer drill also apply to swinging the driver? Great content!
@PorzakGolf2 жыл бұрын
With the driver we would want to pretend that the nail is actually at the golf ball and not by of our hands. We would want to feel the club head releasing to the golf ball more. Do that and rotate through impact and you’ll be hitting bombs!
@jonsobus40102 жыл бұрын
Thanks for bringing that up. I was doing the nail drill with driver too and I couldn’t square the face. Might be worth mentioning in a video, if you haven’t already. Releasing slightly earlier really does add effortless power.

Hey Adam, Could you also use this same feel for driver but with the only difference being hitting up on the ball? Or would this end up causing you to slice it versus cutting it. Thank you!

I'm a little confused. I realize nobody wants to hit dead pulls (or even overcooked draws) especially with irons. But eliminating one side of the course seems rather limiting to me. Sure, I have a stock ball flight (usually neutral to slight fade,) but there are multiple times throughout a round (course dependent) where I want or need to hit a draw.
