Using REW and being able to measure what the bass frequencies are actually doing in your room was the biggest game changer for me. After that, MiniDSP allowed me to add my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th sub, and using that with REW ensured I was getting the flattest frequency response. Extracting the last bit of performance was then being able to add my own house curve, and input BEQ. You'll get every last bit of potential from your investment. And I know it's a big investment!

Most home theater guys are chasing SPL and grunt, and there’s no better option than JTR for that (PSA wins the silver in that category). Others who have dual systems (music and movies) want the best sound quality and easy integration with their mains. For a music only system, REL is hard to beat (though they won’t go as loud or as low as many others). but Rythmik is right there in the sound quality category (Arendal is also a good option). For those who want BOTH slam and sound quality, the big Rythmiks offer both, and compared to many other manufacturers, the price is reasonable. For me, they hit the sweet spot, offering slam, SPL, refinement, easy integration and great sound quality.

Couple things I’d be interested in why you chose Rythmik as a company? Their customer service isn’t nearly as easy to get a hold of as SVS or Arendal. What other subs were you considering at this price point? Why not SVS SB 16 or Arendal 1723 Subwoofer 2V? Or spend a little more and get the JTR Captivator RS1 or Funk Audio 18.0E?
@chrisrichardson9583 жыл бұрын
I just wanted something different. I really like the servo technology rythmik customer service is excellent. I would have liked to get the jtr but the build time was long and it was more than I wanted to spend same with funk audio I know those are end game subwoofers but for me I did not need a wood grain enclosure it’s cool but not worth the price funk charges. As for Svs the sb16s are good I have heard them but the rythmiks go deeper and have better tuning options. Arendal was a consideration definitely but I just keep coming back to rythmik. For me personally They are perfect. I’ve talked to Brian directly and he is amazing super knowledgeable person and he really stands behind what he sells. What subwoofers are you thinking of going with ?

SVS subs aren’t very musical. As I understand, if you want the best subs for music you get Rythmik, and if you want maximum bone crunching output for Home Theater, get JTR. I have two JTR RS2’s - more output then I’ll ever need. Considering selling one and buying two F18’s, then sticking the other RS2 in a nearby closet and rolling it out to supercharge bass when I’m feeling silly.

I think I’m going to go dual E15HP2 SEs, which is basically equivalent to a G25HP, per Enrico at rythmik. I’m 90% music, I don’t listen to music that loud, and I don’t have the space for G25s. I won’t get the benefit of canceled vibration in the box with dual opposing woofers, but I get better smoothing through placement of two subs. It is cheaper to get a G25 than dual E15s though, even with the multi sub discount, which isn’t much at rythmik to be honest. I have to go duals, and getting dual G25s isn’t cheap.

That’s the first time I’ve ever heard SVS subs being called one notey, my PB-2000 hits a pretty broad spectrum with authority. 🤔

@@Kpaceguy Yeah...it's alittle difficult to 'collect' em' when they're as big as they are. They'd require quite a bit of storage area! : )
