I just ordered 2 of the Rhythmik F18's. Coming from 2 Klipsch ported 15's. I wanted the ported versions of the Rhythmiks but they are too big for my space. Hoping they can dig deep even though sealed. I hear they are gonna blow my mind.

Thanks for the review. Getting ready to replace my 19 year old Sunfire Signature Sub (the 13" one) with either a Monolith M215 or a Rythmik FV25HP. I'm going big. Tough decision. There's not a lot of Rythmik sub reviews out there. I'm thinking the Rythmik is probably the way to go though.
@blazermdx4 жыл бұрын
You’re definitely going big, if you’re going to grab either of those monster subs! I don’t have any experience with either but going off other people’s comments and my Rythmik experience, I’d probably lean towards the FV25HP. I’ve been reading complaints about Monolith customer service, but again, I have no experience there. I know Rythmik has the performance edge, customer service and a better warranty which Is why I said I would lean that direction. Either sub is going to have more output than about 4 - 6 of those awesome little Sunfire subs:)

Most people don't need to reach 115db at 10hz so commercial subs are perfect. But from what i've tested and experienced, a single sub can give you enough, but going dual is a minimum for me, not for the power and spl but for when you calibrate them so fix each others nulls. To make each seat have the same bass. I've been living with a single pb-1000 and i was happy for 2 years. It's perfect for moderate listening to around 100db. Most people in Europe live in apartments and can't make loud noises, and a single pb-1000 is way way enough. Going quad 18s in each corner is the best thou. :P
@blazermdx4 жыл бұрын
Very true! I think the forums and the other audio groups have really made things confusing on people starting out in this hobby. For folks like me and you, where we don’t have unlimited space or dedicated theaters, you can still accomplish near theater level listening without 4 18” subs. Two good subs, properly positioned and setup, will meet most expectations and then some. I also don’t like going much above 100 dB anyway, starts to get uncomfortable. We are missing out on the real deep stuff but if you’re sharing a wall or two, we don’t need it anyway. With that all said, if I ever buy a house big enough for a dedicated theater, 4 18” woofers, here I come. Haha! Thanks for stopping by and for taking the time to comment. I really appreciate it!

And this is why I love and hate aluminum woofers. I have some really nice rbh sound speakers and I was using a Swiffer duster on them. I sneezed and my hand moved and the plastic tip lightly smacked against the woofer a little bit and put a little tiny dent in it. It's tiny and no big deal sound wise but I can see it clearly from 10 ft away because the woofers are so beautiful and perfect otherwise. Makes me frown every time I see it so I keep them covered up mostly. Other people don't even see it it's so small but I sure do. I just ordered a PSA sub over a Rythmic sub and one of the considerations was that the rhythmics had aluminum drivers.

I usually keep the Dynamic EQ off as I feel it over exaggerates the bass. With that said, with how frequently I swap out equipment, I have actually enjoyed it on with some subs and speaker sets. Poor quality, the fact that a hdmi cable could permanently damage something that is supposed to rock solid...
@blazermdx4 жыл бұрын
Nope. Definitely not poor quality. Rythmik uses aluminum for the woofers due to the light weight nature and the structural rigidity, when formed. These aluminum woofers were never intended to take side impacts, so this was 100% my fault. That would be like saying a GTR is poor quality if a shopping cart impact causes a dent in the door. Just needed to clarify that decause Rythmik subwoofers are opposite of poor quality. The sharp edge of the HDMI was just enough to cause the dent. I would imagine it would have dented polypropylene woofers, possibly torn paper woofers. Probably wouldn’t have done much to the massive woven SB16 Ultra I reviewed but that is just because the woven material is a little thicker. Thank you again for stopping by and helping support my channel!
