Pleaseeeee listen to all their albums dude, they go from six strings in the 90s, to seven strings in the 2000s, and now they use eight strings and nine strings. Their evolution is crazyyyy

Man, you're in for an amazing journey. "Adrenaline" is so raw. From this to "Around the Fur" is already a huge step and they only got better from then onwards. Every record is different, but undoubtedly Deftones. Imagine, before "Adrenaline" was recorded they were asked to play a few songs for Madonna's then manager and he signed them right after the first song. 🤣

During this period, Stephen was the only guitarist in the band. When _White Pony_ (their third album) came around, Chino picked up the guitar and started playing as well. Deftones also has a demo album called _(Like) Linus_ which you can find on KZbin. The band had a very different sound back then, you wouldn't even recognize them lol. Chino also has two other bands (Team Sleep and Crosses), and a side project called "Palms" with some of the members of the band Isis. Contrary to what a lot of people say, the only contribution Chino made to Palms were the vocals, the instrumentals were all by the Isis guys (Chino talked about it on a podcast a while back). Chino did learn some of the guitar parts for a tour they did, though.

Favourite band. This album always sounded like a bunch of high school kids making a demo tape, maybe saving up to get an evening down the local recording studio. Maybe my least favourite album in all honesty, but 30 years later I do appreciate it more. Fist feels like that look into the future of what was to come when you think shoegaze alternative. Hope you listen to the complete set.

Got to see them open for the Bad Brains before this album was released. We had no clue who they were and halfway through their first song "Bored" my buddy and I were hooked. The whole set blew us away. Really hope you will listen to the rest of their albums in the order they were released. The progression of their sound is very interesting and each album is unique. I remember picking this soon after release. I'm a massive Helmet appreciator, if you're not familiar with them, listen thru their albums "Meantime"('92), & "Betty"('94), then you can understand when this came out, I was quite happy that another band had appeared doing similar things (with very distinctly different vocal stuff going on with Deftones). ;) Deftones changed their thing quite a lot thru the years tho. I think I own their first four albums, then I stopped buying so many albums generally after the turn of the millenium.... I'm sure filesharing had nothing to do with that! #DealWithItLarsYouRichTwat LOL Anyhoo, there is some damn good work from Deftones over the years - well worth further digging-into imho. I'm sure other folk will fill these comments with suggestions as to which order to cover which albums etc. :)

The first 3 deftones albums are superb and the sound evolved throughout. Fourth onwards it evolved into something bland and boring. They never seem to have recaptured their original authentic and dynamic sound. Still a great band that stood out from the other wannabes
