I'm not gonna lie, I have been to the Everglades once. You can't make me do it again. The mosquito's alone could carry off a small child (news flash I was the small child). The alligators seem friendly, until you pet one, and the humidity makes you seek the nearest body of water... Which is infested with... ALLIGATORS!/🤣🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 Edit: Truth be told, the everglades is a beautiful place. But I don't handle humidity very well and mosquito's love me. Doesn't matter where I live. If there is a mosquito in a five mile radius... They will find me... and they will bring friends.

News flash, those warm bodies a still water is where the mosquitoes thrive. OFF is a hellofa drug, and the right size bonfire will clear out most of the blood-sucking parasites... and the mosquitoes. 😂 And ya have to pet at least one gator, careful it's not your last.

Jesus that second one was absolutely terrifying. I am so sorry for that poor kid, woman, and her family. Ik these stories should be taken with a grain of salt but the fact that this is ABSOLUTELY possible is beyond frightening. I had goosebumps for the entire story…
@jessicabuechler7031 Жыл бұрын
I 100% agree... That poor kids entire childhood was permanently damaged and changed for the worst because of a chance encounter with a psychopath! His whole life changed. It's so sad. I wish our bodies weren't programmed the way the way the are. Too many people have PTSD because we have too many traumatic events and relationships. We were built this way back. When we were Cave people hahahaha. Anyway, I hope the kid is doing better now. He survived and helped the police! 💙🤍💙

I have hiked the Everglades and almost died. Thousands of mosquitos follow you at every step I tried the long pine trail and after 3hours of hiking a huge mountain lion came across the trail and met eyes with me. I decided to go back the same I came all 9miles to my car. I had no water anymore and my mind started to have wild thoughts of sounds following me around from the edges of the trail and then the trail did not look like it had before I felt lost and it was getting dark. I must have run 9 miles in 1 hour I finally found my way back and collapsed in my car after turning on the a/c i woke up a few hours later in total darkness and nearly out of gas. Covered in mosquito bites and white as rice. I made it home took a shower and a week later I went and got a malaria test after calling my doctor and telling him what happened. I was clean but I will definitely never do that again. I have never felt so close to death and in danger.

My family camps at the everglades at least twice a year. We have heard howls, grunts woodblocks and even had something try to open our tent. We usually camp at flamingo. Snake bite trail is very squatchy. It's a long trail near flamingo. But where we get the most action is the long pine key campsite. There is a road that connects from the back of the lake to the next road over that will take you to the abandoned missiles. This road can only be walked unless you are a ranger. It's about 30 minutes of pure terror is you are walking after the sun sets.

FR I am very very rarely scared by cryptid stories(I’ve never experienced one so it’d probably be different if I had) but humans absolutely terrify me. I always try to take things like this with a grain of salt but the fact that it’s ABSOLUTELY POSSIBLE for that story to have happened is horrifying. It reminds me of the couple who stumbled on one of bundys victims which was confirmed by him. Dangerous people just feel so much more terrifying because they’re definitely real… I’ve been having goosebumps that entire story and I am so sorry for the poor kid who found that. I can’t even imagine. I hope they eventually find peace and the victim’s family as well.

The 2nd story makes me very glad my family had guns. The author was scared to go home in case his family would get hurt. I was once chased by a group of guys trying to mug me when I was walking home from school as a teen. First thought was to get home to my dad because the only thing my pursuers would get out of us is a very rapid and lethal dose of lead poisoning from my dad.

Have you ever been there? I live in South FL and I spent many years living minutes away from the Everglades and lemme tell ya just the mosquitoes alone could run off the most seasoned of hikers! They're damn near as big as birds and they move in swarms! So many that they sound like rain hitting your tent! And that's no exaggeration, I've experienced it. I won't even talk about the gators,snakes and dog sized raccoons that have little to no fear of humans! They might be really cute but you go ahead and get in the way of a 30 pound female when she has her babies around! You don't even have to get in their way actually,THEY will get in YOUR way then they'll punish you for it! And when Darkness talks about an 18 ft python,that's easily big enough to eat a person and don't think for one second they haven't done exactly that! Then you have to worry about black bears ,coyotes and Florida Panthers. And last, but certainly not least, let's talk about the wild boars that are out there that can and absolutely will maul you just for crossing it's path,no joke! And these angry things can get up to 400 plus pounds!I'm not saying it's the scariest place on earth but I think you may have underestimated it with this comment.
