Hey Loam, Stellar trip, well done! We're all stoked in anticipation for Leo's input on the Pole lineup! Would you ever put a 11 or 12 speed cassette on that DH you were riding? Ya know, to avoid those bike-walks? I've always wanted a 200mm travel XC bike to eliminate the skipped sessions on features you find along the ride. Pole's geo pedals so well that it's opening up the 'Quiver-killer' bike category. Perhaps that DH with a full "cassette-up" could be that for some of us.
@TheLoamRanger6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! A DH bike that can pedal *extremely* well and tackle pretty much any obstacle... that sounds like the Stamina to me :) Seriously though, that bike (from the time I've been on it) is a true quiver killer. It's crazy. polebicycles.com/stamina/

awesome video as always! Madeira looks amazing, for sure a bucket list type of thing on my list! those cliff looked stunning, i would ahve barely been able to focus. Also stoked to see your footage on the new bike! you seemed to have a big crew so I didn't introduce myself. but I was one of of the 3 guys who dropped into Aunt Flow ahead of you when you were at moose! Just uploaded a clip from that ride, I am sure your footage will put mine to shame!

I'm curious about a high quality aluminum frame just wondering how it compares to a carbon frame, like stiffness, how it absorbs terrain , ect. I owned a 6000 series aluminum bike a while back and owned the same carbon version and the carbon felt better
@craigjones2927 Жыл бұрын
Is Madeira pretty much all shuttle trails or are there any areas where you pedal up too? I know about the Freeride Madeira guys, but what do locals do to ride those trails? I can’t imagine that they go with Freeride Madeira every day . Is it possible to self shuttle the trails in Madeira with an E-MTB? I’m asking you all these questions because I inow you’re an Albertan too and probably have some perspective on what I’m asking. My wife & I are looking hard at Madeira as a place to move to.

Loam, how did you do wind noise reduction on the Hero 7? I remember your video on the Hero 4 back in the day where you stayed away from upgrading to H5 due to difficulties with the microphone(s).
@capstone3996 жыл бұрын
8:00, nevermind, haha! I've resorted to sticking mini deadcats all over my H5. Guess I'll have to keep that up.

Great video, Madeira looks amazing. I recently got a hero 7 and used your setting for your hero 4, but it came out pretty grainy. Any ideas? I feel like it might be my computer not being able to render it well.
@garymel92476 жыл бұрын
The Hero5 and up suck as far as sound quality, I have the 5 black and all i hear is the motor from my gimbal, they do make a mic extension to add a seperate mic but I haven't tried it yet and it's bulky so not sure if it would interfere with a ginbal.
@TheLoamRanger6 жыл бұрын
Agreed. That’s why I’ve always stuck with my Hero4 Black. I’ve also tried the external mic option with the 7 and wasn’t super impressed with that either 🙄
@thim80096 жыл бұрын
Would it be possible to smear just enough silicone on strap to deaden noise. Put some on then let it dry dont snap together it will glue together. Hoping you could give me an honest answer about that 7000 series aluminum frame vs. A carbon one. Anyways a journey of a lifetime pretty awesome and enjoy.
@TheLoamRanger6 жыл бұрын
Ya I ended up putting a strip of tape in the clip which deadend the noise. As for the frame material, what was your question?
@azdirtlife42806 жыл бұрын
I ditched my gimbal for the Hero 7. I think when you have tested it out more you will like it.
@AB-fh9zh6 жыл бұрын
I recently got mine, but do nothing as extreme as this. I'm amazed at how that came out without a gimbal, clicking and angle aside. Hypersmooth is one fine piece of coding.

Hey lomie you gotta read this, I know how to fix your problem I just got the gopro7 and I think the same chest mount that you have I had the same problem with the clicking but I fuigeried out how to fix it! this is how: i took the gopro off the chesty, unclipped it and got some hocky tape tore it into a strip about 1/4 inch wide and about 1, 1/2 inches long anyways, I taped it to the middle clip at the base and pinched it up against the edge (I had some trouble getting it clipped on the first time but the 2nd time was way much easier) anyways because of the hockey tape it stopped clicking around and rides smoothly:) contact reply to me if you have any questions Bye for now;-) -A fellow subscriber and mountain biker-

Hero 7 makes the trail look so flat it damn near looks like your going up when going down. I wish they would figure this out. The sony captures the angle better but looks worse.
