I am a fan of the Saw Doctors and my grandad was Irish , I went to Galway in 1998 and loved the music in all the pubs and the bar staff and the locals were friendly. I don't drink now but I used to socialize in pubs but I drunk there local bitter Smithwicks . When I got back I was ill for a week😢 I just couldn't take my beer in my 40s, I tried to keep up with my mates but I was always going home early and suffering terrible hangovers. In 2013 I went to Inverness to see the now retired Scottish giants Runrig and even the Scotch snubbed the rip off prices for cans. I went home and didn't have a drink alcohol again. I'm 66 now and have one fruit juice with my meal in a restaurant and that's it and don't miss it.🏴🏴🇦🇺🇺🇲🎸🎸👍😁😁

two things I love about the lad's music is 1) they have a sense of what it means to be Irish. All their songs have a distinct Irish flavour i.e. being the underdog and winnng, emigrating from your hometown, the loneliness you feel when you do return to your hometown etc and 2) every song brings me close to the West and I don't want that to leave me. Shame ye are now retired as I would love to see you on stage again. Thanks lads for your amazing music, many tears and many years of happiness. We that live in and are from the west are extremely proud of you all.

I've loved this song, especially, since my first journey to your land, in 1993. You capture the spirit and sound of your home and I am so grateful for you.

Is a tribute to all the people who’ve Helped and stuck with us along the way It takes 2 to get together It takes time to make it last We’ll all end up in some way Like the drink 🍸 in last nights glass But we’ll take this chance together Let’s not think 💭 about the end Never mind the strangers ‘Cos I’ll always be your friend Until the end We’ve crossed 🤞 the sea 🌊 together We’ve had our ups and downs We’ve gone further than we’ve ever dreamed From our county Galway home 🏠 If we’re up on top tomorrow Or if it all just ends Never mind the strangers ‘Cos I’ll always be your friend Until the end It hasn’t all been easy But sure that’s the way it is We’ve been shaken, rocked and rattled Taken jabs and body blows There’s a strenght in being together Like a steel bar that won’t bend Never mind the strangers ‘Cos I’ll always be your friend Until the end Even now it’s hard to think 💭 back When did it all begin Was it some night drinking in Gay Brownes pub Every soul is welcomed in On this fine summers evening As the blue of night descends Never mind the strangers ‘Cos I’ll always be your friend Until the end We’ve seen the other side of life And no been too impressed It doesn’t beat a day at home 🏡 If you put it to the test But at least we took the challenge We didn’t just pretend Never mind the strangers ‘Cos I’ll always Always be your friend Until the end

Best outro ever. The whole song is a belter, but that last two and a bit minutes would be the perfect accompaniment to the end credits of an Irish feelgood comedy film where the main characters all pile into an old camper van and drive through the countryside, eventually disappearing into the distance en route to new adventures as the song fades out. I may have spent entirely too long imagining this. 😀

I love this band , am not irish am not english , but i feel that there is sadness inside their songs whether the song is happy one or not .
