I wish I had a coach when I was a kid. Watching Agassi, Borg, Sampras, were inspirational, sure, but a coach...... now that would have been transformational.....

I saw one of the former Wimbledon doubles specialists talking about this and, in addition to Patrick's techniques, he really tied the hitter's head to the racquet head, keeping the hitter's head low and near the racquet. He also lowered the racquet head in the ready position, because most balls at the net are not at shoulder height, but lower and time is of the essence.

I’ve looked at John Academy. The lessons are a bit dearer than the Private ones I get at the club it is I can see there’s you and another person so I guess you have to pay for that. Got somebody hitting the ball and you got you coaching instead of just one coach on his own so it’s expensive but you pay for what you get

What is meant when you say “ keep your hand and body together”?
@laurastone65782 ай бұрын
It means your body goes forward as you hit the ball with your racket.
@123a-o5d2 ай бұрын
Another way of saying this is that you don't want to have too much 'independent arm action'. As in, independent from the rest of your body. It's a good tip for groundstrokes as well. I took that phrase from Florian from OTI / online tennis instruction.
