I was hesitant too at first cause I wasn't able to play persona properly. My family was going through some problems. I was only playing this game to pass time but when the ending came I burst into tears and realised that what I missed. I thought I will replay it. I tried it but it didn't feel the same. So I planned to play it later. Then the song came to my recommendation. I burst into tears again. I wanted to add this into my playlist but I thought it will just refresh my memories of playing it and won't be able to enjoy it later if I remember every single event but I am sure I do still remember 90% of the game. And there it is, this song right here, usually when I finish a game the obvious reaction of mine would be a sense of accomplishment, however, with this.. I felt overwhelmed by various emotions at the same time, I didn’t want to say goodbye to Inaba yet, the people I meet, their interactions, how small friendships became bit by bit through silly interactions and deep conversations a lifelong genuine bond.. it all came down to emptiness, I usually don’t comment like this in game soundtracks, however, Persona 3 made me accept death is inevitable and Persona 4 encouraged me to enjoy every single second I have left here and lend a hand to those who need it when I do have the chance. The series and this game in specific hold a special place in my heart, it’s funny how a game can have greater impact in your life and this game is actual proof of it happening, saying this as someone who’s studying Psychology on his second term to help me understand those around me.

I remember completely finishing my first playthrough of P4Golden when it was rereleased on Xbox. The inherent beauty of the game, paired with Never More, remembering the both good times and the bad I had with my comrades; As the credits rolled, I cried. Honest to God, I bawled my fuckin eyes out. And I have no doubt that once I complete this next playthrough with my friend, I'm gonna cry like a little bitch yet again. I love this game. Literally Persona 1 (Phantom Blood) horror themed Persona 2 (Battle Tendency) Fighting ancient gods Persona 3 (Stardust Crusaders) stopping an evil as well being awesome Persona 4 (Diamond is Unbreakable) slice of life and finding the killer Persona 5 (Vento Aureo) gang/mafia Oh god this would mean part 6 will go exactly like stone ocean.

Honestly, I think a lot of people who sing uncontested praise of P4 are slightly blinded by nostalgia. It was a great game for sure, especially with the changes/additions brought by Golden. But there were still many aspects I felt were lacking or not very enjoyable compared to P5, chief among them being dungeon-crawling, the gender war, and the non-party social links. However, there is one aspect I will agree P4 did, and still does, reign supreme in; it has an absolutely beautiful soundtrack, and this song is a prime example

@@MxPokirby I understand this so much. This game was made with so much heart and soul, the story, characters, music, and atmosphere were perfection. Many people forget perfect gameplay isn't all that makes a legendary game. It's everything else too. This game got me out some depressing days, it's nostalgia that makes me long and feel my heart pull when I see it or hear it's music, but that nostalgia isn't rose tinted, and the praise is well deserved, for all the things which people say lack compared to newer games, those are irrelevant to the true reason we love and remember it fondly.

2 years late but honestly the reason why everyone praises P4 so much is how personal it feels specially for teenagers. The game feels like it tackles subjects that I as a teenager can relate to since I am going through that stage in life where I start to ask the same thing that the main cast ask themselves. I love the themes of all persona games, but to be honest Persona 4 had such an impact on how I saw myself and others, it teached me that it's not wrong to open up to people and be yourself, and to tackle your problems head first. I dont think is that we're blinded by nostalgia, we're blinded by the personal structure of the game. Hope youre doing good out there wherever you are.
