@jamiegagg3974 Moore and Connery were good friends of that generation. The media whipped it up into some kind of titanic battle between the two stars, but actually they just discussed who wanted to do which film. Connery didn't want to work with cubby again
@thomaschacko63203 ай бұрын
Roger Moore was under contract to Cubby Broccoli’s Eon Productions, responsible for “Octopussy” and the rest of the Bond series. “Never Say Never Again” was an independent film, which grew out of Kevin McClory’s rights to “Thunderball.” Sean Connery signed for this as a one-shot deal - without any connection to Eon. (Although Broccoli fought until the last minute to block it.)

She’s the most entertaining actor in this film by far, always chewing the scenery, having a ball and just hamming it up, and also being drop-dead gorgeous yet seductive cunning and completely venomous a real proto-Onatopp in verve & vigour. Love Barbara Carrera in this movie, its radiant how much fun she’s having making the film, and she makes one of the most memorable Bond henchmen/villains for it. After she dies its all downhill.

Sean Connery says he'll never make another James Bond movie, and maybe I believe him. But the fact that he made this one, so many years later, is one of those small show-business miracles that never happen. There was never a Beatles reunion. Bob Dylan and Joan Baez don't appear on the same stage anymore. But here, by God, is Sean Connery as Sir James Bond. Good work, 007. - Roger Ebert.

given congestion and complexity of getting locations actually cleared for a given shot... i doubt any of the roads in this would ever be empty enough to do this stuff now... it feels like since the 2000s, shots involving landmarks are getting scarce unless cgi. i hate to think what it costs to close down a main city arterial road... when a few geeks on puters can sort of achieve the same look... sort of. sigh.
