Castling is permissible provided all of the following conditions hold (Schiller 2003:19): 1.The king and the chosen rook are on the player's first rank. 2.Neither the king nor the chosen rook has previously moved. 3.There are no pieces between the king and the chosen rook. 4.The king is not currently in check. 5.The king does not pass through a square that is attacked by an enemy piece. 6.The king does not end up in check. (True of any legal move.) №5 is not adhered on c1 at 5:38 and black make an illegal move and loses the game! Also the figures are arranged uncorrectly. Whites are always on 1 and 2 ahd blacks on 7 and 8!

Mistakes were made. Black’s illegal castling, crossing a threatened square by the bishop. Easy to do when playing against the clock. Restrictions on castling were made for this very reason, to prevent the King from an easy escape. Great game.

Bad moves on both sides and illegal moves. Nothing spectacular. For example at 2:42 White gives the Queen for free. Qg3 is logical (Queen safe, still watching c3 and attacking the knight on e5). At 6:43 I would have played Kh1 instantly. Not a good thing to stay on a dark square when the opponent still has his black bishop and g1 would have been free for the knight. At 8:24 we have an horrible blunder. At 8:39 Black misses a crushing move: Rxh2. The threat is Rh1+ winning the Rook. There is no defense for White: the only way to defend the Rook is the desperate Re1 met by Nxg3# or Rd1 (with the idea of Rh1+ Ke2 defending the rook but again this is a forced checkmate: Nxg3+ Ke1 (forced) Bf2#). And of course we have the illegal castle and the illegal unpromotion.

Yes, black did play an illegal move, but it looked like it helped the kid (trade bishop for rook)... and if he saw his opponent make a *bad* illegal move, why point it out? If you point out an illegal move, you usually just get a takeback (that's what I've heard, at least).
