Hi guys. We have a ARB compressor, with a retractable airline. We mounted it on the top of the wheel arch inside the tray. It does get warm, but definitely not too hot to touch. It runs off a secondary battery which was installed in the tray. Very practical, no bags or kinked hoses, & It easily does 4 tyres. Packs up in a few seconds. We have a photo if you want. 😊

Hey! Thats awesome might have to look into something similar, would be very handy to have it permanently mounted with a retractable hose too! Send us a message on instagram with a photo 👍🏽

Have to agree with you about Plovers - we cannot stand them. AND they are a protected species in Queensland, it's a maximum $14k fine for interfering with them too. Unless birds and omg the squawk they make particularly at like 4am is grrrrrrr lol. Great video guys

Hi B&C… I love my KING’s double compressor. I have not had trouble with overheating, but I modified the Kings Dual Hose to a Quad inflator hose. I pump all four tyres in about the same time as it takes to inflate 2 tyres.
@CaravanAdventureAus8 ай бұрын
Hey mate thanks for watching! They are a good air compressor and so fast! Maybe the more hose helps with keeping the temps down 👍🏽
@evil178 ай бұрын
@@CaravanAdventureAusThat’s correct, I have a dual hose system, if ur up for carrying the extra hoses a 4 tyre system will inflate all at once faster & with less stress and heat created than singular inflation, it also uses less power to do the same job quicker & keeps the pressures even. Using the right size hose matters, ie; don’t use a larger diameter hose if making ur own setup, that is a mistake some have found/proven not to be beneficial, don’t use 1/2” hose as some do or you lose efficiency with these compressors and try not to make them too much longer than you need. I have mine fitted between an upright & a drawer fridge in my Ute canopy about a foot off the front power wall & Lipo4 batteries with outlets on either side of canopy near the rear wheels, so easy access & can be switched from either side of canopy, I just need to get another dual inflator setup so I can do them all at once, with an extra hose I can presently do 3 at once, it is quick and doesn’t get that hot, had these compressors for years and yet to have one fail, maybe I’m just lucky! At $118 on sale it’s hard to beat the Kings Thumper Max for value, (I’ll get flack for that statement), other reviews have found them to be faster than ARB compressors at nearly 7 x the cost, & one 4wd mechanic said he had a bench full of crapped out ARB compressors, he said the main problem was that they could go to 150psi before cutting out & that these higher than necessary pressures is what breaks connecting rods & bigends, etc, where the Kings probably just get replaced, so I have to ask myself, $ for $ would 1 ARB outlast 7 Kings compressors, alternatively you could buy a Kings compressor for each tyre and still have money for 2 or 3 more.

Good video guys. Weather is always a bugger. We run a ARB compressor under our bonnet where a second battery would go. Didn’t need that spot as we run batteries in our canopy. Works really well.

Just have to make the most of it when the weather is no good! Yeah nice thats a good idea, power straight from the main battery too would be better too!

I have a 9ltr air tank sintex with pressure switch and relay.
@CaravanAdventureAus8 ай бұрын
Is it the Sherpa air compressor or is it with the kings compressor? Would be great having that air tank too
@RustyCandyAdventures8 ай бұрын
The air compressor does not matter. It's about filling your tank, and then your air compressor cools down. A switch on the dash can start filling the tank. When ready, you got air for your first fill tire. When you move to the next tire, the tank is filling again. The pressure switch is cheap. 130 psi, and a vent pressure relief to 150 psi. You can use it to blow out the radiator or air filter or dust inside the car. I hope it helps. The pressure switch turns your compressor on and off.
@RustyCandyAdventures8 ай бұрын
It should be scintex. Sorry, I was going off memory. Old blokes disease.

I run a Chicago Hush 50 from Sydney tools on 240 volt inverter. Sick of wasting time with the small ones. Basically same price as the ARB compressor but double capacity and 50 lt air tank.
@CaravanAdventureAus8 ай бұрын
Do you find it takes up alot of space? And what size inverter does it require to run? I couldn't see any wattages on the specifications, might be a good option!

2:00 I let my nature strip lawn grow in winter, and the natural bushland on south side of my house. Plovers (Australian Lapwing ) love it. And as I am walking along my drive, they eye me off but think I can't see them foraging with their young in the longer grass. And they don't sqwark at me. They only try and distract people when the grass gets mown. 😊They try and distract you from their young or eggs laid on the grass when the grass is too short.7:26 The Tannin stain is the decomposition of Eucalypt leaves which leaches tannins into the water table. I am told It is quite safe.
