Never Sell Your First Car, Race It!

Introducing my EF Falcon Futura. I have had this car since 2005 (my first car). It has seen a lot of racing over the years. Spending most of it's as a hot n/a 4L and was turbo for a while there too before returned to a stock AU long block for daily duties.
After being off the road for a few years I decided that it would be a great platform for a DIY n/a build where I can show you all how I am going about making this 4L inline 6 produce good power and insight into replicating it yourself without breaking the bank. SOHC is cheap asf to buy, not as powerful or revvy as a barra but still makes good powerr cheap. My favourite part - the SOHC sounds more angry than the Barra. Cant complain about cable throttle response either!

Awesome mate, mine was a 202 Holden Red motor for an assessment at TAFE in 2007 🙂. Nice, this one was boosted for a while too. It's addictive! What colour EB?

Hey mate just came across your channel. I’ve got a AU XR6 that I have had for about 3.5 years and I will never sell it. About 2 years ago I bought a Turbo 5L AU ghia that has taken most of the attention. I’ve got the ghia to a place that I am happy with for now and really want to do some work on the XR6. If my first car was a manual E series i wouldnt sell it either. I do miss my first car, was fun to thrash, pretty light and AWD but not really ideal to race being a rav4😂 People do swap caldina turbo gear into them though....

Yeah I'll definitely hold onto this one 🙂 Rav4 is pretty cool and I actually have seen one with a pretty serious turbo setup at Powercruise back in 2011, I didn't get to line him up though.. it was real quick back then.

@@GapSauceKZbin yeah there is actually a few turbo setups getting around since the Caldina gear is almost direct swap. I was looking at buying a mint blue one a few years back as he only wanted like 8k and it was all engineered and rwc ready to go.

Fuarrk, my first car was an xe esp... ended up with more rust then a hooker in kalgoolie. Ended up being crushed fter yellow stickered. Look at jim mock motorsport he was the ducks nuts back in the day for e series

That's a bloody cool car for a late 80s guy to have as his first rig.😎 I've had chats in person with Brenden Mock back in the late 2000s. I had their headers on this car when it had a ported head and cam then. They didn't sound as good as the 4480 pacemakers but probably had more average power!

@@GapSauceKZbin yeah it was, paid all of $2500 for it. Probs be worth 50k or so if id of kept/fixed. Working on minimum wage didnt help 🤣. Yeah sweet, not even sure what happened to them went out of business or closed. Who knows. They did camshaft and heads plus tuning from memory, was 15 odd years ago now 🤣

You can either modify the sump like I did. Or modify the k frame to clear.
