I tested the Mathew’s first in January as I had planned to buy the bow as everyone was hyping it up how smooth n great it was. I pulled back felt like I was dragging it though sand not hard just gritty. Another guy was testing the Ethos and I noticed how silent it was next to it so I asked to try it. I walked out that day with a bow I never heard of and love it.

Well I tested the 29.5 and 33 both set at 70 lbs 29” draw 85 percent let off. 33 was better but there is the bit of sand feel right before it hits the valley that I just don’t like. Plus I test shoot bows sitting down and slow pull like a tree stand I don’t muscle through the pull. Can feel everything that way.

That video was exactly my experience with the alaskan xt. I wanted to love it and it did shoot good.... just not for me. I never quite felt like I was in a naturally rhythm. I went front a bowtech cp28 short Ata to the alaskan longer Ata which held really well and then to a pse fortis 30 and instantly I knew that was the bow for me. It makes a huge difference when your gear is perfect for you regardless of others thoughts and opinions.

Everyone that shoots an Elite that I know all say the grip is expectational. Some had issues with speeds for lower draw lengths and the old let off adjustment used to rattle but they've fixed that on the newer models. There's not a heap of them but the Elite lovers definitely love their stuff.

You look so much more comfortable shooting that bow than the Bear you've been shooting. You still have a left/right wobble at full draw from the looks of it, but didn't look like you were fighting the bow like it did with the Bear. Same with the button vs index, no triple tap on the trigger, just a nice smooth follow through. Great video, keep trying different things until you find the combo that works best for you.

@tsi-rocket41447 ай бұрын
Elite may not have all the fancy attachment options but their bows shine when shooting them. If we compare elite to any other manufacturer the let off/valley is the best, the speed is top notch, and the draw is great for the speed you get and 1/4" draw adjustments are big deal for some of us. As a hunter I really appreciate the legit 90% letoff when I'm in a stand or I can change it down to 70% if I want to. I know a couple ppl that switched to elite this past year and love them so I'm not the only one that see's elite being a contender these days. As far as mfjj saying SET is too complicated I can say not only did my elite tune perfect with bare shafts without SET I have had zero issues with SET moving after 4500+shots so saying SET is unreliable I'd debate. I live in Northern Ohio and hunted with my elite September-December 5-6 times per week and my SET never moved so the bow has been tested.

Elite bows have been a brand that I have been interested in for a long time I just have not made the jump ever. That was my big takeaway when I went and put them in my hand this year is how heavy they were. Draw length looks good as long as it feels good to you I bounced between a 28.5 and 29 myself depending on the bow. I definitely play the field when it comes to bow brands the only one that I have found that I can't really stand is Matthews. That's just because I can't get comfortable with the grip and the riser being so long it just feels weird look for some reason😂. Good luck Tim I just shot my first 3D weekend of the year I've got Michigan TAC in a couple weeks, Thursday night 3D League starts the day before TAC, and then I'm going to do the new TAC in the UP in August, with some 3D shoots sprinkled in the middle let the fun begin!!!

DL looks much better, release side elbows in the right spot inline with end of the arrow, forearms parallel. Holding side your arm doesn’t look overextend anymore. Think you got it nailed. One thing though, your is arrow still sitting a bit low. This seems normal for you, and isn’t a problem if it works for you. Moving your anchor up might reopen a can of worms with overall draw length though.

Elite has been making some fire bows these days. My old man has the verdict and it shoots incredible. So easy to tune as well. I also agree that bowtech has fumbled the ball with some questionable ethics this past year. Its not an issue if they had wanted to drop tim and kyle, had they given them some notice... but to do it end of season with zero warning when all the companies had their contracts locked in was just gross. Not to mention I think Tim Gillingham helped a fair bit in developing the reckoning. The engineers at bowtech deserve praise for their designs and its a shame their work is being overshadowed by slimy execs. At the end of the day, there are a bunch of other bows out there that are phenomenal right now. PSE and Elite have my eye more than others. Mathews is always right there, but I am honestly not crazy about the 8 limb design. I just prefer to have 4 solid limbs... I still may end up with one, but thats just my gripe anyways. Keep us posted on the Elite. I really like the kairos since I have a 28" DL. I believe it is just the ethos but in a shorter draw isnt it? I am liking the idea of 33" ATA coming from shooting target, and the short ATA bows just dont feel that good to me anymore.

I have a Nitrum turbo as well. From a performance stand point, it shoots faster than any of the new bows on the market testing it with my garmin. At 70lbs, 28inches with a 451gr rip Tko its spitting them out at 288 fps. The only real reason to upgrade IMO is the draw cycle and let off. That Nitrum turbo draw cycle and 75% let off isn’t for everyone lol but it’s an awesome bow!
@BBDragon667 ай бұрын
@@RodneyRegalbuto I have the #3 Cams and to me the draw cycle is pretty good @29" vs my Nitrum 34 with the #2 cams. Surprisingly the 34 seems to want to jump out of the valley more than the Turbo. I also have some fletching contact issues with the 34 at the cables when I try to get the bullet hole tune out of moving the rest. The Turbo is the fastest bow I have had and I always seemed to like the faster bows and would shoot 80-90 lbs to get more speed in my younger days.

@Makka3167 ай бұрын
Yes draw length looks great and the hold looks much more stable than the Bear or the Bowtech. As others have mentioned, draw lengths on the Elites are adjustable in 1/4" increments so you have lots of fine grained control to play around with. I've found that I can use the let off adjustment to tweak my setup for different events without changing the speed. On courses with steeper shoots I drop the let off a fraction to shorten up the draw about an 1/8". The extra holding weight and shorter draw makes it easier to hold on those steep shots but the speed remains the same. I can then switch it back for flatter courses or indoor sessions where a fractionally longer draw feels more comfortable.
