NEVER throw away OLD LEATHER CHAIRS. You’ll Regret It!

Episode 24 of my KZbin Antiques Quiz.
This is one of my favourite antiques fairs of the year…Ardingly Antiques Fair on the south coast of England. It always attracts really good stock and interesting buyers. Lots of interior designers visit this fair and today’s two contestants are vintage dealers and interior designers too.

In today’s video, we’re looking at a pair of antique leather chairs made by Waring and Gillow. The leather is original which is exceptionally rare and the fact that there is a pair of very rare too. There’s we are and even some rips in the leather, but these are things that can be improved without ruining the originality. Old leather chairs may look worthless to some, but let me tell you…old leather worn looking chairs are worth far more than mint condition fabric chairs. and when the leather is the original, when the chairs have never been reupholstered, then that takes them to an altogether new level

I knew they were over 1000 before hearing a word. Fancy maker? Price just went up. Knackered a bit, but I wouldn't have messed with them either. If I had to guess, a designer would pay 6000 for the pair. More than he wanted, but I bet I'm on the 1st Dibs number.
