G bodys only weigh 3,200lbs and thats with full interior/power windows/seats, if you strip them out there a 2,900lbs car easy and thats light as fuck for a full frame car of that size and wheel base. You don't need much power to make a 2,900lbs car fast, an old vortec 350 with a cam can push that thing into the 11's

depends on the model a SS is going to weigh less then a Buick t type, also things like roll cage, turbos, engine swaps,etc a lot of things can add weight. 4 aluminum rims can weigh as little as 60lbs but 4 steel rims can weigh 180lbs thats 120lbs of rotational weight just from poor style choice
