‪@STABILAOfficial‬ LAX600g crossline laser with rechargeable battery. Quick to set up, the principle applies to whatever laser you use. A level landing without taking a lot of time.

I just would have measured off the floor above everywhere. If it ain't level, you got no one to blame but the framer.
@tsutomaspacheco7451
@tsutomaspacheco7451 Жыл бұрын
Yes you can blame the framing but framers will blame concrete, we build off concrete and throw string lines from side to side tight as a guitar chord and it will still not all be perfectly plane top plates. Assuming it should be level just isn't the case due to small variances everywhere

It's funny how the residential construction industry considers these lasers "perfectly level". I worked at a Topcon supplier and did maintenance on lasers. Lol these types of lasers are cheap and road construction people would NEVER trust them. They are like paperweights compared to what they use.

@Azdeh lol there's another level (pun intended) of lasers that most folks don't know about. They cost a bit more tho. The cheap ones were about $600 when I was working in the field in 2016.

@@azdeh1894we use Stabila bubble levels and I trust them more than any others we've used. But they're only as good as you are at reading the bubble. Our lasers are the 3 way Milwaukee and we've never had any trouble with em.

@el baddo if you're a DIY'er, the type in the video is fine. But if you are a professional in the construction industry, I would go ahead and invest in at least a Topcon RL-SV2S or better.

Even if I had a laser back when I did stairs I wouldn't waste the time setting it up I'd still just calculate my risers then measure down (for the platform) from where the stairs would meet the top floor and level across to where the deck is going to go. Probably in less time then it took him to set the ladder up and turn the laser on. LOL

@@AwesomeFramers I don’t have a tripod because a lot of frames I use are steal here 😢 but you could always just screw in a small sheet of metal roughly to where you want it to be, and stick your lazy to it and adjust it perfectly, if it has a magnetic base of corse which most do these days. Or. Just use a tripod.. 😂

I’m looking for a good laser to use around my farm and home. Two tasks currently: install a new track for the sliding doors on my 150 year old barn, and excavate inside my 4,000 square foot workshop / tractor shed to prepare for heated floor and concrete pour. Any suggestions for me? I’ve seen contractors use them at my property but never got details on what they were using and their thoughts on them. Thank you!
