In case you read this comment Allen, and on behalf of some of your subscribers who are not TV engineers, why not do a brief video on how a flat screen TV actually works? I'd be fascinated to learn how the broadcasts we receive get to the screen, and what's technically involved in making that possible (in layman terminology). If you've covered this in an earlier vlog I apologise for asking, and if you have perhaps you can say where it is. I look forward to learning more. Wishing you contnued success on an interesting channel.👍

Each video has a little different content but the main part I think is how many watch your channel and then try to repair their tv which is better than throwing them away at the tip our local recycling facility now sell tv vcrs dvd players and anything with chips in they also recover the small amount of gold from the connections 👍😁love it keep it up

Hi Allen I enjoy your videos immensly. I used to repair tvs years ago (sixties) when they had crts. Replacing the back lights in my Samsung U48JU6445 was a daunting prospect, so I left the job to avery capable fellow called Chris, who resides in a oldy world shop in Conisbee, market Place, Lincolnshire. You should keep a record of all the TVs you repair, maybe even leave a special number (in permanent marker) on the aluminium back / base . Another good video.

My internet went weird once and despite it "passing" a lot of the line tests they did, they eventually had to come out and replace the cable from the house to the pole across the road. That also involved stopping traffic and getting up a pole and stuff. Worked a treat. Cable from the house to the pole also went through some trees, one engineer said that's not good.

If I remember correctly, tvs were the first thing I started fixing 4 years ago by myself. First ever object I fixed were old computers at school, most of them I fixed, others had some strange faults and became doners. Now, when I find tvs/monitors, I try to fix them, and when I can't, I experiment with them. I have a 32 inch tv with a cracked screen that I'm trying to fix with different screens from other tvs. Still trying to understand how and why it works, and how that fix can be replicated to other products.

VDSL speeds are dependent on noise overhead. The router will negotiate the fastest speed it can with the exchange. It's not a purely on/off situation. Sometimes after an outage the exchange has "learnt" the maximum speed of your line while it was degraded & noisy, and will not automatically increase the speed again. If your ISP is any good, they can reset the line stats and the speed will go back up to whatever profile the line can support. Just don't turn the router off during the 24-72hr learning period. I'm so glad I now have fiber.

Why are you bending the metal tabs??? They are there to locate the led strip only and shouldn't be bent! This bending can also cause issues when clipping the white frame back on. Fit the strip in at a slight angle to clear the metal tabs. The better way to stick the strip on is not to take all of the tape off straight away but to take only about an inch of the backing tape off and locate and stick that part down. Then remove the rest of the blue backing by moving it along and up at the same time with one hand, while holding the LED strip in place with the other while moving along. This takes seconds and is more precise. It is also not true that they are not selling prism sheets (Light Guide Plates) any more........the trade supplier in France currently has 21 originals in stock and 9 "compatibles", for immediate delivery. I too have had one or two delivered with damage in transit, but I have been refunded or a new one sent out each time, with no issues.

I've got Sony bravia 85" it's on even if I'm jot in room backlight on lowest setting as too bright for room how long u think this will give me working back lights it's around 2 years old now been on nearly 24/7 I always wonder how long left on it haha

When i lived in UK i was getting 20mbps max in the town centre, i had BT look at it 10 times and told me that was the best i would get When i moved to Thailand i was expecting a worse.speed I am now living in the Thai countryside about 100 miles from nearest town and get 450mbs i think UK need to get upto date. I was paying £24 a month in UK here i am paying £8. I know what you mean about socks 😂😂😂

Why a 49 and a 50? I went (many years ago) to Currys with a tape mewsure. Overall width isn't a marketing term, but was important for "does it physically fit"

Do you have anyway to like fully flash a full firmware kinda like recovery on a old Samsung 4K Smart TV? I have a old EU43JU6060K that the smart part of it is gone, basically has 0 apps and shows memory as being full so can't install any app and the later updates didn't fix anything either... I already tried all resets from service menu, tried changing smart tv country and nothing fixed it 🤬
