Come on, you guys. You really thought we would never go wheeling again? Well, we took a break from the 2020 Jeep Gladiator giveaway build to finally experience some wheeling in Washington! It's a different kind of off roading than west coast rock crawling, that's for sure!
Hope you all enjoy the video!

Knowing how big the Stepchild is really gives you a sense of just how big these obstacles are!! YAY wheeling!! My friend bought a sunrider and I was like "HEY!! I actually know how to install that!" so we are gonna do it hopefully in a few weeks for her. I love Nate! I follow his channel. Kevin said no...Cue Nate!! LMAO

When you're trying to stay on a rock cranking full L or R and the rig wants to go straight, try turning off the rear locker to let your front end pull you into the turn. Might work, might not. Give it a shot.

In the Netherlands there is no more 1 event like this, you may not be together with more than 3 people and a distance of 1.5 meters between the people otherwise as your family. I really hope it will be better soon and we can have fun with the Jeeps. Corona is an annoying speller in this world. For your good health and beware of each other. Greetings Rene from the Netherlands. (The red hoodie of yours is still super :-)) (Throw a welding electrode in the jeep and bake the clip for a while)

We fixed the same problem you had one time when we where four days into a 7day backcountry trip with JBweld-it quick drying epoxy. Mixed some up plopped it on the yoke let it dry for 20min then turned drive shaft 180 degrees and did the same thing on the other side. It held up for the rest of the trip plus the 1100 mile drive home.

Hey Britt & Kev. Any plans for doing the Jeep Jamboree? My father did it when I was young in a '93 Jeep YJ I never got to go since he figured I would be too scared. Side note; I hated that jeep for rough it rode but it was amazing off-road which was how I first learned to drive. Loved wheeling ever since.

Sometime, will you guys compare and contrast the rock krawler and metalcloak suspensions?
@LiteBrite
@LiteBrite 4 жыл бұрын
We can but there is no comparison since the RK is a long arm and 3 link the whole dynamics have changed. It wouldn’t be fair to Metalcloak. A more fair comparison would be the gladiator with RK vs MC on the JL but even that’s 2 completely different kinds of builds since one is over land setup and one was a rock crawling setup. If you have specific questions I’d say to call rock krawler and talk to Jeremy and call Metalcloak
@michaelhalstead64
@michaelhalstead64 4 жыл бұрын
Lite Brite true. Fare enough. I was watching trail to sema and realized that was still the metalcloak with 6 paks. Your up travel was insane which just made me wonder how it compares. But you’re right, a long arm 3 link probably isn’t comparable.
@LiteBrite
@LiteBrite 4 жыл бұрын
We have the same up travel as there are other limiting factors before the shocks come into play. We have more down travel now with the same up travel. All around the Jeep is way better now. I can go fast through Offroad areas without shock fade. The 6 paks were great but would shock fade with how heavy our JEEP is and just couldn’t keep up with the demand of the hemi
@michaelhalstead64
@michaelhalstead64 4 жыл бұрын
Lite Brite makes sense! Interesting. I forget how much heavier that thing is. I rewatched the hemi build Friday. It will be a couple years but I’m definitely doing that as soon as my JL is paid off. Stay safe!

@Tanner731 4 жыл бұрын

I love following your channel and seeing the evolution of all your mods. I'm probably going to pull the trigger on a JLU Rubi end of this year - any OEM options that you wish you had/hadn't ordered? Looks like hardly anything is stock on your jeep anymore but wondering if you just wouldn't have bothered on some things (stock steel bumpers?) or should have gotten (leather seats?). Thanks and keep pumping out these videos! :)
@LiteBrite
@LiteBrite 4 жыл бұрын
You can save the money on the steel bumpers and just go aftermarket (although the factory front steel bumper is pretty darn solid, the rear one is garbage and will damage the paint on body). We prefer cloth seats for comfort in extreme weather, but that’s just a personal preference.

You should put video cameras under the Jeep. I've got my Toyota setup with multiple cameras to help me see what's going on under there. I am also running hydraulic rams for control arms on my experimental crawler. Build in progress. It'll be ready to wheel by this summer.

Finally pulled the trigger on a set of 38" Patagonias. Love them on road, Offroad...not so much though. I found myself struggling on obstacles that I've done countless times before without issue at Rausch Creek. I don't think they fair well on east coast terrain...not LiteBrite, down south East Coast but the real East Coast. Unfortunately decided to go back to STT Pros & sell the Patagonias. To my surprise, when I posted them on FB Marketplace, there were dozens of listings for barely used, like new Patagonias within a 40 mile radius. Something about that compound or tread just doesn't like East Coast rocks.
@LiteBrite
@LiteBrite 4 жыл бұрын
We’ve been to AOP and wind rock and didn’t have issue. What pressure are you running. We seem to have great luck at 8 psi. At 12psi not so much. I’m sorry they aren’t working out for you. We have wheeled them all over and have yet to make it up, over and through anything

Ask any East Coast based Jeep club & they would've saved you the trouble. They really don't do well in the North East. I'm a Rausch local, live 20 minutes away. I can't tell how many rigs I've seen in the past 2 years come through on Patagonias, have a rough day & come back a month later on different tires. You need a true M/T here & Pats are more of a hybrid. Rocks here are definitely different & more slicker than what you'd wheel out West.
