Oh as a ToF player i can let u know lots of things NTE will have 1- in ToF mostly of characters have theyr house in game or a place to found them, so u can go peek, this for sure will be in NTE 2- In ToF can Get arrested and debuffed by dealing chaos at city 3- In ToF can costomize ur main char so they might add customization for every char 4- In ToF Gesthos was added some job as roleplay sistem so in NTE we ll have our own shop or busines aswell

I actually disagree. With the lighting and water reflections and everything, I don't want the car to look like something from a looney tunes skit. 😅 I want them to utilize different textures. If everything is cell-shaded, it might look OK (like Hi-Fi Rush does), but... it's just not as "luxurious" imo.

This isn't an mmo though. 😅 And ToF has a new urban / sci-fi area rn. You can just play that. I think it'd be redundant for them to make another mmo when ToF is doing well, yet still kinda struggling a bit in some areas at the same time. They're better off just keeping this single player with co-op.

I'm not a hard-core racing fan but if they had quick and easy matches like the old Tokyo Extreme games then I am 110% on board.

I played ToF between release and stopped mid last year. Unless I really like this I'll give it a month test.

Hopefully they spend a lot of time and resources on making it feel polished and smooth to play. All these features are great, but most players will decide if they want to commit to a gacha very quickly. It has to feel good to play. I also hope they nail the character designs and details. The characters shown look great, especially with their little scenes, but the quality of their models in game seem a little lacking, especially when compared to the environment graphics provided by UE5. Makes me speculate that there may be a lot of asset flipping, which wouldn’t be surprising. The competition is fierce and will continue to be, with all these games like Endfield and Project Mugen coming. This game will either stand out as its own and succeed or instantly be forgotten as another Genshin “clone”. I really want something like this to succeed. The setting, theme, and style are all great. I just don’t have high expectations with studios like this.

When I hear a game is made with UE5, I disregard how good it "looks"(lighting and rendering shizz) because that already comes with the engine. What does this game do differently or better than the open world gatcha games we already have?

A city that you can actually explore, even enter buildings and drive cars. Just the fact that you can drive a fast car around the city shows how well optimized the game is to load maps over long distances, when other games are instanced or slow to load as you slowly move from map to map. And that all of that is possible on a mobile? It's like a Mini Anime Cuberpunk game. The possibilities are limitless.

@EurrikkeEdward not sure how to respond to this... I suggest watching the full gameplay trailer if you haven't. Yes UE5 is to thank for a lot of the things happening here, but somehow you tried to spin that into a bad thing.

Lighting and rendering aside, designing and animating all the characters takes a lot of work. Not to mention that, instead of vast empity plains and montains, the game takes place in highly populated urban enviroments that can mutate and transform into liminal spaces in real time. (It reminds me of Control. Or maybe ZZZ, if you could actually see and fully explore "the hollows" while the world reshapes itself around you, instead of having a TV mode.) Oh, and there are anti-gravity powers that allow you to walk on buildings. (And I don't mean parkout and run up walls like WuWa, I mean the entire perpespective shifts and you freely move on the walls like Bayonetta or Gravity Rush. You can see it at 3:55 ) I don't know, it looks kinda cool. And at least from the 15 minute gameplay trailer, the combat looks a lot smoother compared to ToF. Now we have to wait and see if it lives up to the hype, and if the day-to-day gameply loop is worth the time.

No it doesn't. That was when ToF was rushing content for global to catch up to CN since global was over 8 months behind so banners were being released every 2 weeks. Now that global has caught up to CN, the banner cycle is 6 weeks. In ToF the meta is pulling weapons of one element for your team. So 6 weeks for each banner and 4 elements means you are pulling a new weapon for your team about every 6 months. Three weapons in a team means that now each weapon stays meta for 18 months. That is a reasonable amount of powercreep. Most MMOs have vertical progression where over time you replace gear with newer gear to gain power. That vertical progression is powercreep. ToF is an MMO with vertical progression just like most other MMOs. Vertical progression is a gameplay loop for players to chase shiny new items over time. Since it's a gacha game, you would be pulling new weapons anyway so even playing normally as a gacha, you keep up with the powercreep naturally. But Hotta also runs a ToF server in CN that is balanced with no powercreep so they know how to make games without powercreep. So they can easily make NTE as a game with no pwercreep since they have that experience already. So sick of all these dumbass takes from people who don't understand ToF as a game or how much it has evolved over time. Most of the gameplay shown in the demo for NTE is already in ToF.
