As a long time gardener and a second year farm market farmer I have been learning the hard way. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. Following an expert who is willing to tell his story is the encouragement I need to keep on growing.

yea I'm wondering how grafting increases your production since it seems like a complicated step and you seem to be training single vines....what makes a suitable root to graft to? do you keep a single mother? so many questions.

I'm a big fan of successful tomato operations, you must have a really sturdy one because so many try to determinate climb than dangle, as yours seem to. That's good,,I wish tomatos were awarded better feed in the supermarket, those Hydro ones are terrible. They only get as good as semi large Campari Brand at Costco, they almost a complete ripe. Nothing beats a full ripe tomato! We had a bumper crop of Lemon Boy in the early '90 s and another year of Beefsteak/Caspian Pink. That was when we lived on The Red River, a fresh off the water helps! Of course we lost are garden to flooding a few times, but we ended up moving because of flooding anyway. It hasn't been as easy in a neighborhood grid layout, mainly because of Interstate sty and toxic water issues, fracking and air quality. In a small population. Keep up the good work!

Forgive me if I missed it, but how do you manage the light requirements of the three French slicers? According to the light calculator, I couldn't grow those naturally until the end of June and by then we are growing heat-set determinates. Ben Hartman grows those Marbonne/Margold varieties, too, and I've never seen an explanation regarding what I assume would be the addition of artificial lights.

New subscriber. Grafting and then transplanting is great. Cuts down on the time a plant is in your Greenhouse which allows multiple crops a year. Question: What supplements do you give to your plants in the Greenhouse? Rock Dust, kelp etc are popular. I am interested in soil biology especially in a Greenhouse because in the field soil biology shuts down at 53 degrees F. You also should have amazing numbers of earthworms in your Greenhouse because they can reproduce 12 months a year.

Hello Coner, I recently found your channel and I have just subscribed :)) Your farm is beautiful ! In viewing some of your past videos, I couldn't help but notice that your soil looks wonderful and very suitable for growing garlic, do you grow garlic ? Also an off subject question, I noticed that your farm is close to a river or stream my question is have you ever found any Indian artifacts on your land ? Please keep up your great work and you are indeed living the American dream my friend :))

Have you ever considered grafting tomotoes onto potato root stock? They are related. I'm not sure of the logistics, but ideally, you could be growing potatoes below ground, and tomatoes above.
@christines2787 Жыл бұрын
I saw a video on this fairly recently. It works, but with reduced yield on both tomato and potatoes

my man, you believe in pruning fruit clusters to obtain greater size. say you had 20 clusters of 6 would you prune some off to get bigger size on the remaining. I am growing salad tomatoes and paste tomatoes, mainly I had a hard time getting size on my paste tomatoes and I thought this may have been a limiting factor. plants had 50 green fruits each.
