We do not scam anybody. The point of having such highs release clauses it's because we don't want to sell our best players. If clubs want the players that badly that they are willingly to pay the release clause(or very close to it) that's their problem.. at that point they are scamming themselves.

The thing with João Neves is quite simple, if Rui Costa sells him for less than 100/120M, he can say goodbye to the presidency. The next elections for President are next year, he's gonna be one of the candidates and he's already in thin ice, last summer some questionavel signings, lost the league, the cups and disastrous champions league campaing and he kept the manager. He cannot afford mistakes, if he sells the fans favourite player for below 100M, he is done. Unless benfica has the perfect year 24/25... We all know, if you win the trophies that the fans want (portuguese treble) everything is forgiven. That's football. Ps: He is a benfica legend, thats why he is the president dispite his lack of qualifications, everybody loves him. Not saying the sources are unreliable, but the problem is the club itself. You can say all these interests and talks but the club just somehow always messes it up sometimes. Like any other club, there will be talks for couple of weeks and then its deal done, or even talks for couple of days and its done, but when it comes to United, it always drags it on for weeks upon weeks, and most of the times the deal just collapses.
