Wonderful, wonderful filming, so smooth and interesting and telling an amazing restoration story. The team are fantastic and so dedicated. The Panton brothers let me park my campervan right outside the hanger during the night as no campsites were nearby .Just Jane had done a high speed run and nearly took off. There were weird creaks and cracks during the night as she and the building were cooling down.Keep up the excellent filming.

@@nevillewheeldon1693Hello I loved watching the video of the rebuild even though it's been finished years ago it turned out great! I hope that someday I might get to see it in person. I've been told that my grandfather was the person who designed the revolving turret for the Lancaster when they were made in Manchester.

The men who flew these machines in wartime have been deserted by our government . These men fought for thier country it's values and traditions . Many of them died to preserve our way of life and our government let them down. If they could return to see how England has turned out , I am sure they would have thought twice . My own father fought in North Africa in WWII.

They treat modern veterans in a similar way. We should all make a note of this next time they give a war.

Mr Myers I am from Nottingham originally .The Irony of it is that I live in the land of Hitlers Birth. Here they have managed to preserve thier identity and traditions and actively practice and promote local customs and they LOST . . I am treated better by the government here than in UK . I am on a pension now and I get paid every month but each year I get 14 payments . My so called land of the UK give a measly 10 quid extra at Christmas, so much for the winners ? .In Austria They are shipping out the imams and closing down mosques . You see it pays to be on the losing side . Why do you think my youtube name was Cromwell. He closed the corrupt Parliament down and ruled himself . They are a disgrace and they have let the indigenous people down. Glad I left .

Cromwell13649. I know how you feel. I worked all my life from age 16 and never collected a dime of welfare benefit while pulling myself up by my own bootstraps. - put myself through university at night. Now every third-worlder without an education, job skill, or language ability can simply walk across the border from the U.S.A. and immediately start receiving three times my pension for rest of his life. If you have been a jihadi and cut off a few infidel heads or raped a few sex slaves, our Prime Minister will write you out a cheque for ten million dollars. Four so far, and counting. My old dad who lost so many of his friends when he was in his Sherman tank fighting panzers would be beside himself if he were alive to see how badly our traitorous politicians have sold us out.

William Myers every word you have written is so true, it beggars belief what has happened to our England

For a 4 year old comment it could easily have been written today. We are being led into the darkness but it would seem the masses either refuse to see or are too dumb to see.

This aircraft spent some time at Lavenham airfield, near Bury St Edmunds. I was fortunate to visit one afternoon and took a number of photos. We were shown inside and viewed the aircraft front to back. I do not know if the photos (Agfa colour slides) still exist, but I'm welcome to visit the house and should I do so, I'll endevour to seek them out.

Did they ever find the cause of the metal shavings in the oil? If I recall correctly, some of the Merlin BBMF aircraft were grounded for the same reason.

That blister should have been a gun turret. Would have saved a lot of planes from under belly music.

Was the 3rd engine started the ex Swiss Merlin 25? Just looking at the smoke and guessed maybe having been ‘inhibited’ (please excuse if incorrect terminology) for such a long period or was it the #4 which didnt start? Apologies have read the comment below about the battery etc and the Swiss 25 being a ‘spare’ . Fantastic video, there is one from years back starting the engines with camera inside the cockpit, great through headphones you feel like you are in the cockpit. Awesome noise.

Hi timj41 I had to watch the video again. No 2 engine had been changed over the winter period that's the one they wanted to try. From what I remember the timing on No 3 engine was out?.With all the winter restoration and winter servicing they were only two days late on completion. Thanks for watching

Is Just Jane a Lanc I/III? The turret position without its fairing looks like where the Martin turret was positioned forward six feet on the Lanc X.
@nevillewheeldon16936 жыл бұрын
Hi William,thanks for watching, "Just Jane"- one of the first 150 B MK VII built for the RAF Tiger force, built in April 1945 at Austin Motors Longbridge.
@williammyers42696 жыл бұрын
Neville Wheeldon Thanks Neville. My dad was in the Canadian Army - Sherman tanker in Italy and Holland, and volunteered for Tiger force. Glad things were wound up before he had to be part of an actual invasion of Japan. Ironically, I spent twenty-five years as a university lecturer in Tokyo before retiring in 2014. In the mark VII, without the fairing, how did the mid-upper not accidentally shoot up his rudders? Some kind of interrupter gear? And is there a timetable to get that beautiful bomber Just Jane airborne? BTW, you might enjoy my historical novel Fighters, Bombers, Tanks, Wolves: Gitchigumi. One of the main characters is a Lancaster tail gunner who gets shot down over Germany. Cheers.

Over 57000 bomber crew gave their lives for England and its values. If they could see how the English government has bowed down to the Muslim invasion and the gifts that Teresa may has heaped upon them I am sure they would not have bothered to protect this country
