Kanami is an incredible songwriter and always manages to make sure every member gets a spot in the song that highlights their skill with their instrument. Then she makes it all blend into one perfectly crafted song. Then Miku writes her always thoughtful, meaningful and often deep lyrics (Miku is the rhythm guitarist, vocal harmonies, lyricist, founder and creator of the band and unfeasibly beautiful genius who made her dream of a maid themed Rock band come true by sheer force of will). Glad you loved these 2 songs and fantastic reaction!

As somebody that loves Strung Out and other super fast pop-punk bands, this song was immediately one of my favorites, but it's gradually become my favorite Band-Maid song, it has everything. The riffs, the melody, the bassline, the hook, it's just goddamn perfect. These ladies deserve everything and then some, I'm so happy they're just punking us western dudes by showing us up in every way, it makes me inspired to try new shit and try to find new sounds. We've been content with our metal boys' club for a long time, and these Japanese ladies are tearing it down and I couldn't be happier. I just hope they let us back in if we ask real nice.

I recommend BandMaid's 2021 Online Acoustic concert, 14 song 3 of which are No God, Different and Manners. Different and Manners are just Saiki and Kanami on a guitar and backup singing. The bad does No God. Other songs are the full band, some has Miku, Misa and Akane only, one has Saiki, with Miku only doiing guitar and Akane on a Cajon instead of her kit. Never knew it was possible to shred an acoustic guitar until I saw Kanami do it. It is insane how they could take some heavy heavy rock songs and do them acoustic like that. Really shows off their skills with both instruments and rewriting music to make it work in this set.

Just noticed something for the first time: at 5:47 in the reaction, in the left channel you can hear what sounds like a reverb return from Kanami's guitar that's gated and modulated so that it sounds sort of like a helicopter spinning out of control, or car tires skidding on a tight curve. Yes. These two songs are great for showing all the individual performances within a song. You are right- The vocals by both ladies are fantastic. Different particularly, where the song is mostly off beat- is that correct? then with sections that are so on-beat. You may have gathered that Saiki particularly likes songs where her vocals are challenged- broad range, very fast or very slow and drawn out.

These two are really fun and "different." I find No God is better live, whereas Different really relies on a specific balance. It misses something if Kanami's lead doesn't sit perfectly in the mix. Recommendations: 1) Alone and YOLO. You've seen their big break in Thrill. Now hear their first self-written song in Alone. And YOLO is technically their oldest song, written by Kanami before Band Maid. There's also a video out there of Kanami playing YOLO on the piano that is beautiful. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpC6e5WBmdmChKc 2) Daydreaming and About Us. A couple of ballads. COVID related About Us is a tear jerker for me. 3) Secret My Lips/Secret Maiko Lips. The original and it's more traditional alter ego.
