@@sinjon It will be 80TB of useable space. Raw unedited 4k video files take up a ton of space and this needs to work for her for years to come. Even a simple video like this might actually have an hour of raw footage that gets edited down. An hour of 4k footage could easily be 50+ gigabytes. Honestly for as much video content as she produces, that seems like a perfectly reasonable amount of space. I bet she fills it up in 2 years and will then need another one.

not really, it's an easy and convenient way for mac users to have an easy to use 10gbps server, but it's a ripoff at $40000, the app really just makes an easy connection which is not hard if you know how to do it. you could have something similar for $15000 - $20000with those 8 10Gbps ports, just not that easy to build, it'll just take more time to configure stuff

There's $30,000 of profit in one of those at minimum when you consider drives are only roughly $5K for 120tb raw (12 x 10tb WD golds) or $4500 for (12 x 10tb ironwolf pro). It looks like a run of the mill server with a bunch of addon PCIe ethernet ports in the back and some easy to configure software. 45 drives q30 with same amount of drives and expandability? $13k including $750 for them to configure it.

well it costs 40k dollars, because they are INSANELY!! overcharging. the drives alone if u buy em one buy one and get 10 TB drivers each, u'd pay 3600 euros/dollars. the rest of the system to be generous 4000 euros/dollars, and that is being extremely generous! so if we ad a healthy margin, we get from 7600 euros/dollars to 15000 euros, but somehow.... in their insanity they charge 40k dollars.... i have no words, for what level of money apple sheep will throw around with better options being around. it also seems, that the setup isn't even ZFS, so em.... that's a let down too. at this insane price justine could have asked wendel from level1techs to collaborate and setup a budget zfs server, that would have cost a TON less and give u better results. and she could have paid for flight and everything for him.

Although the huge storage is cool, I'd like to hear more about the setups and how you're using the old and new storage. Although having big shared storage is easiest to set up, it doesn't work as well when one of your users gets a cryptolocker infection or accidentally hits the delete key.
