They don't have Android Auto because of legal reasons. Android is gathering to much personal data. No hate, I have Android and no Apple products. Apple carplay seems a lot more secure than Android Auto.

For those complaining about it not having Android Auto, it is more of an Android issue than Honda issue. I'm sure it is coming as I recall it was delayed on their car line also. Having Apple Car play will be great, I have an $800 Garmin for GPS and an iPod hooked up to my Triumph. It truly is a pain in the ass to get them to work together well with my Cardo unit. Yes it works... but the Garmin is virtually unreadable in the daylight, so this looks to be the better of both worlds. Also in Canada this bike is %60 the cost of a GS model and at least they have a dealership network when shit goes wrong. Triumph and BMW are very limited where i live. I have to ride 150kms to get a full service and then leave the bike there for a couple of days, so in short it is a 600KM trip to get a major service done on the bike. This bike is at the top of the list for 2020, great work Honda this was all that I was waiting for to get this bike.

apple car play and nav works ONLY if it’s connected with an iphone through a USB cable. what we do in case of rain ? the source of the phone can be short-circuited if we keep the phone connected during rainy weather

Una lástima que en su nueva honda África twin, la nueva pantalla no funcione para el sistema Android..! Lo comentamos en el grupo de moteros, que con las pantallas TFT de las nuevas motos, sería todo un acierto que se comuniquen con el tlf celular móvil, etc para tener en la misma pantalla el gps, Y no tener que llevar tanto gadget, para los que nos gusta viajar, repito una lástima, Y un fallo para Honda no pensar en los dos sistemas.

Bona sera devo fare una precisazione dopo aver scritto che il sistema android sulla Africa twin 1100 adventure sport non funziona dove svariate prove fatte sia da parte mia, sia da parte dell' assistenza Honda e la concessionaria abbiamo costatato che il problema riguardo il sistema android sul tft è dovuto al aggiornamenti android auto che fanno sui telefoni, mandato telefono nuovo di 5 mesi in assistenza samsung, honda ha inviato il nuovo tft e presa usb ma niente solo con samsung s21 ultra non funziona ma dovuto ad android auto.

Since I paid $700 for a waterproof GPS this is a great idea now at least you have maps and audio in your helmet thru the same device. Currently i have Garmin telling me directions and the Triumph hooked up to an iPod streaming for music for those long rides. It get confusing to sync them all up with a 2 channel Bluetooth. Just my opinion though!!!!
