This Kinky amp for its price seems to be amazing quality. I know paired with the j CD player it's a really good combination. . Great video but what about opamps? Did you change it? I want to buy new Kinki and wonder which opamps choose: Sparcos Labs SS3602 /1 or Sonic Imagery Labs 992Enh-Ticha. How do you think?

I currently have the 2018 version of the EX-M1. I just saw your video on the sparkos opamp swap and really like the improvements it made. Can I ask if the new 2020 model is worth the upgrade in terms of SQ, or can the 2018 version + opamp switch be just as good?

Hi Mike, Another excellent video. One query. Rather than a revised EX M1, is your unit the higher model in the range the EX M1+? You mention that you have modified the Jay's Audio CDT2- Mk2 transport. Is it still your intention to post a video demonstrating the before, and after, use of your Qstab? Regards, Terry.

Hi Terry, the EX M1 is the EX M1 :) not the +. I had a lot of work to bring my older units to a really good standard...so, tuning of: Jays CDT2 burn in, burn in Terminator, Krells all 150 250p and 300 with burn in..next Video is the Krell KAV300 with Rike Alu in Oil Capacitor. This is magic, and i think one of the next videos will show the QStab, so the rig is at a standard everyone can hear the big advantage of the QStab NSE. I will give it to all, so i have to show all what is possible... Cheers Mike

Hi, new version has more emotions, darker background, more music, better volume control, more capacity of capacitors, complete off for the display, better look with golden heatsinks, DC on off and so on......but same price :) Cheers Mike

Hi, i did not try it, but it could be more difficult because they are very close together. I always recommend taking the EX m1 + in order to upgrade later with the Denafrips Athena. The EX M1 + then becomes a pure power amplifier ... cheers Mike

Hello Mike, I just got the EX M1+, it had same opamp arrangement like this one. Have you try to rolling the 994 and another 2 pairs as Sparkos or 1 Burson pair 1 Sparkos pair? I wondering enough space for those Thanks for sharing

Hi, yes customer tested it, its worth it. You need riser for the Sparkos. But with Kinki EX M7 and a good preamp...mmmhhh sugar! Best Mike

thank you for your quick response, I returned the device and removed the 2 large screws but the cover still does not move. I'm afraid I've done something stupid, everything is moving inside and I can't put the screws back on...sorry to bother you with my problem. cheers

@@cedoulamegue8774 I think you loosened the big transformer screws. But the screws are the same size as on the lid on the left and right edge of the device, as described. Be careful with the loose transformers, you can damage the cables and circuit boards inside. Better get help from someone with experience, please don't turn the amp upside down now, let a second person hold the amp and then loosen the screws on the edge (middle of the sides) from below. The lid should then come off easily. As always, no liability, just assistance.

Hi, cannot be compared, as two different devices. The Athena sounds like a piece of wire, incredibly open, fast, dynamic, emotional and not tiring. The Kinki is an integrated amplifier that sounds phenomenal at the asking price, but can still be improved in the pre-amp section. So I always recommend Kinki EX M7 with Hades or Athena. Best of both worlds ... Cheers Mike

Hello, my Ex-M1+ has this configuration of opamps. I have just ordered the Sparkos opamps. Will they fit or do i need some sort of extension leads? I have order 5 riser adaptors too. Any advice would be much appreciated.
