We ordered the tractor with the bucket, forks,72 inch box blade, and 72 inch frontier brush hog. we put the brush hog to the test immediately with these big saplings on 3+ acres that needed cleared and you can see the finished product.

Put the bucket on when brush cutting, save the front of your tractor.

ok as a 4044M owner you are highly advised to go over every inch of the tractor and make sure all bolts are tight. Our 4044M has been in the shop multiple times due to stuff breaking or hand tight items causing issues. See that hydro handle for the front loader? That will eventually go out causing hissing sound and front connections to fail. Everytime JD has our tractor in the shop it takes weeks to get it back. They have had it for nearly 3 weeks this time. We will be selling the 4044M with attachments and switching to Kubota cab model soon

1. Do not stand behind the machine, stuff (rocks, tree debris) will be shot out of it and it can kill you!!! 2. Consider a flail mower for the big stuff you can drive it backwards and not damage your tractor. Older tractors have less wires on the bottom but new ones will have more stuff you can brake. 3. Noise canceling ear phones or Professional grade antiphones is a must after 1 - 2 years of work you will start to feal pain in the ears and hear loss will star to come. 4. Use your bucket as a safe guard for new areas you don't know lower it as much as you can so you can hit something with it and stop your machine (rocks, concrete blocks and big wood chunks) Stay Safe

Great machine! Excellent point that there isn't a lot of content available about these larger 4 Series. I think maybe you lost future seat time to Kristen (sp?) though - she seems to like the tractor too much!

You might want to adjust your brush hog, your cutting to flat. The back end should be elevated about 2 inches higher than the front.

Good afternoon, colleague.I am writing to you from Belarus, maybe you have heard!? I have a small farm. I recently bought a john deere 4044m tractor to help me in the USA at a Copart auction, faulty (wiring defect). Do you have an electrical diagram for this model?

Pretty heavy cutting. Looks good. Be alert in that thick stuff. Its easy to run over a hornets nest and never see it. Just be safe.

Nice addition to your family, I'm sure it will serve you guys well for many years to come!. A few recommendations... 1. Consider investing in a gimbal so you have stabilized video. 2. Lower your tail wheel on your bush hog a couple inches so that the rear of the bush hog is a few inches higher than the front of the bush hog. This will help the it cut better and help clippings/debree evacuate faster/better. 3. I could not tell from the video, but it appears that your bush hog is using shear bolts? If so keep plenty on hand when cutting bigger stuff like this or better yet consider investing in a slip clutch. Good luck to you guys in the future and thanks for sharing.
@farmontherange
@farmontherange 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the recommendations! I actually already adjusted that wheel after that first day and it is actually a slip clutch, i did that research before buying it and didn't want to deal with the bolts. The gimbal is in the works!
@bigcountry9457
@bigcountry9457 2 жыл бұрын
@@farmontherange You are welcome! That's a great call with the slip clutch, I always opt for it over the shear bolts as well. I think it's a much better option even though it's more expensive.
