I have the newer front quick attach plow setup. The new bracket has a spacer plate added to the width of the bracket. the bracket itself is 11 7/8 wide but add the spacer plate and its 12 1/16 wide.

I have a true 2020 model year 1025R, and I looked at the pictures you posted on FB and I don't have that spacer plate to add to my front quick attach bracket. I am also running the snow plow set up with a 60" blade. I haven't yet converted over for winter, but will be doing so in the next couple of weeks. I'll try to get some pictures and post as well. I do remember having somewhat of a hard time figuring out how it went last winter, which was my first time setting it up. Hopefully I still remember ha!

What a timely video. I just went through this whole exercise about 3 weeks ago. Received a new 2021 1025R and wanted to use my 2018 54” quick attach snowblower.I think I asked the question on one of the forums about compatibility. What I found was my old bracket had a shim on each side. Removing those gave me a tiny fraction over 12” width on the bracket which works with my new 1025R. I still couldn’t figure out how to get it in the slots. The tech at my dealer thought about it for a minute and said try turning the steering wheel to the left. Bingo! (It looked like you turned the wheel to the right). There is a big difference on clearance. I’ll post some pictures on Facebook.

One of the first things I did was get a bolt bin. I sorted bolts and washers the same way in a pail for years and never seemed to find what I needed. Best investment I made.

Tim, suggestion to Heavy Hitch for the bolt rack. Add a magnet so you can test for stainless steel. Add a measuring tape sticker say 6" to measure bolt length. Add some diameter holes to check the diameter size of bolts. Maybe metric on one side and SAE on the other. Also have a bin marked misc for those odd balls. All cheap things but useful. Cheers!

If you heat the red Loctite to 400F, it will break loose rather easily. Just a little propane torch time on the nut and you'll be good to go. You'll need to come up with a new name for the 2021 model...I suggest Fred. I use clear Jif peanut butter jars for my bolts. When the jar is full, the excess goes in the trash. I think the "gold" plating is zinc dichromate.

That was a great video educating us on the 1025r 2020/2021 changes. I like your bolt organizer bin solution. That’s something I’ve struggled to find a good solution for and now you’ve solved that! Reading the verse out loud was perfect. Keep doing that in future videos! I pray God continues to bless you and your family.

I think the bolt and bolt bin is a great idea. While I was living on the farm I would have been interested in your idea. But now I just have a 1025R, 825i S4 Gator and a 930A zero turn and don't need many bolts/nuts. I don't do much work on them. What I really like is your tractor lift. Wow now that would be great to have if I had the shop room and taller ceiling. I like it that you are so transparent with all of your equipment. Let's everyone know the stuff is not free but maybe a little bit of a deal. Thanks for sharing and showing the new 1025R.

The newer 1025R is a beautiful tractor. I will be looking forward to the different years comparisons and attachment swapping. As far as the bolt bin goes, I really like that you have been working with Heavy Hitch and coming up with an affordable solution for everyone who isn't a big shop owner. (Just us average Joe's with a tractor or two). Thanks for all the effort that your putting into these beneficial side projects (like Heavy Hitch, Bolt-on Hooks, Summit Hydraulics and many others). Keep up the good work TTWT

I was working on a project last year and needed more hardware. I went to Rural King and got all I needed and paid by the pound. I bought several slotted plastic interlock able organizers. At the end of my job, i sorted them. It saves me time and money that they are not scattered around. I now have a dozen of these organizers filled with different hardware related to my needs. My farmer neighbor has a wide selection much like yours that he purchased from a utility auction. Me got several thousand of pounds with a wide selection for pennies of what they were worth. (Bin came along with it.) I have raided the selection from time to time.

A bolt bin labeling suggestion that works great for me... Buy some "Roll-N-Cut" magnetic tape (think fridge magnets, 1/2" wide x 15' long, check on Amazon). Cut into 3-ish inch long sections. Either write directly on the white face (opposite the dark magnetic side) with a black Sharpie, or print labels on a label maker and stick them to the white face of the magnetic strips. Gives you an easy way to re-organize the bins as needed. You can also use the magnetic tape to create labels for all your tool box drawers.
@PeterHonig.

Awesome! Thank you Brad for your solution. I have been searching for "bulk" refrigerator magnets and thought I could only get sheets of it. The 1/2 width roll will perfect for use with our label maker. By the way, we will use it with our magnetic white-board to list the names of our goat herd and the amount of feed that each doe gets during milking.

My dad worked as an aircraft mechanic and he would collect all the bolts, washers and nuts and bring them home. Now that he just passed away I have inherited this collection. We found that he put them in plastic bins and labeled each bin accordingly. Seems to be a nice collection of various SAE and Metric hardware that he collected over the years. Even his tool box he had made cubby bins to hold rivets and snap rings etc.. The pigeon holes you have seems to be great idea, leave room for expansion. I'm still overwhelmed with the amount he collected but they are priceless.

When you don't want Loctite, deform the threads. They MAY loosen, but will not fall off. - When I started, too poor to buy all the bolts needed, I started to salvage bolts from junk. Later, even bought junk to salvage bolts. What I found was IH, New Idea and Ford used better bolts than I could buy, at any price. Made a tower and shelves, built boxes out of fir strips and masonite, mostly scraps, put each diameter in a diff box, plenty of room. Any bolt size that were still needed, I bought at Quality Fleet, and then RKO, by the pound, or smaller weight. Pretty good bolts. Not confined by grade 5 or 8. No use for grade 3. Still have to sort by grade, or length, or fine or coarse thread, but that's no problem. Problem is the metrics. Keep them totally separate.- Remem Tim, you MAKE time for the really important things. I might suggest the same principle for shop equip, esp the fasteners. It takes the space it takes.

I have a 2022 model 1025r and the quick hitch sub frame measures 11 7/8 and was having trouble installing it. After watching you're video I tried turning the front wheels and that allowed plenty of clearance from the tie rod. You do have to remove the bracket that the mower hooks on just pull the rod out. Peace of cake. Thanks Tim for you're video it helped me figure it out. I think you will find out this is better than the previous models no unbolting anything.

I have recently had the same issue with my bolts, screws, nuts, washers, and other misc. parts. I ended up purchasing several stanley parts boxes and well as several Dewalt boxes and put them in a roll around metal shelf. It works great for me. I have several sizes, lengths, metal types, some only very few, other with a lot. These boxes were great. If you want to take a selection to your location just pull out the one you need.

I just traded my X738 in for a new 2021 1025R with loader, 60" deck, and a cab. But I kept my blade, and snow blower and quick hitch, I ran into the same thing, see John Deere now has a 3 point hitch for the front accessories at the cost of $1800.00, but having the quick hitch I just bought the piece that you was trying to put on, and I had the same problem with the tie rod, so I cut it off ground down the welds knocked out the pins on the out side of this bracket, and went to my Farm and Fleet and bought 3/4" by 36" cold rolled steal rod and cut it to length and drilled a hole at each end for keeper pins. So now I have two rods to install and it works just fine, and you don't need to remove the two 1/2" plates on the inside of the frame. Hope this helps.

Really appreciate your new purchase. I just got my first tractor a 2021 1025r so am happy to see your experience with one. First I bought a snow blower with mine. Know you are not into them but I use mine on my dirt yard and almost quarter mile driveway, this tractor replacing my x320 lawn tractor with blower on it. I just measured the quick hitch base bracket that has the PTO shaft running through it and it measures 11 ⅞ outside dimension so must be adjusted to new setup. I also have a belly mower and learned without anything in any manual about the front attachment that has to come off to put a quick hitch on. I have not put the snow blower on yet with the relatively warm fall here in northern Wisconsin but, after seeing your video expect it to fit fine. One more thing. I know you are not into snow blowers but I ordered my tractor with single point on it. Kept wondering if I could use it for the snow blower. Sometime is Now did a couple of videos on doing just that listing the part of single point to get. Not cheap but thought this would be a good solution. Have installed the part on snow blower and tested it. Changing back from snow blower to loader much easier and faster now. Again thanks for all your videos. The 1025r videos have been most informative and helpful to an old fart new to modern tractors.

I think the bolt bin is a great idea!! Some organization is a good thing easier to find things to!! It's frustrating when you spend a lot of your time looking for something!!

If you have a KAR products sales rep in your area they deal in American made bolts and sell all kinds of assortments including a 72 bin cabinet and smaller cabinets also including sliding drawer assortments plus any other hardware items plus chemical spray products. I used to be a sales rep for them. They are based in Des Plaine Illinois and have sales reps all over the USA. They come to you and help set up any organization products. Great company, great service!

Thanks for your amazing videos that I’ve been pursuing for a year now. I just got a 2021 1023e less 54/60d. I’m hoping to pick up a used deck from someone who decided not to mow with theirs; are there any hardware linkage changes to watch out for with an older autoconnect deck? Are there any videos showing how to install/set up the linkage and mid-pto for 1 series without a deck from new?

You'll need to turn the steering wheel FULL LEFT to make room for any bracket you need to slide up into that rear-most slot you pointed out. I had to learn that on my 2020 when attaching my snowblower. I'll likely be doing that this weekend after I mow-mulch leaves one last time.

I hope you are going to do some attachments to the front end of the 1025r. I would love to see what you can find. I was looking for a dethacher to mount on the front and have a vacuum on the rear and save time.

Tim, I don't know if someone already answered this, but the yellow coating is in fact a better quality of the zinc coating. The silver is galvanized. There's also a black zinc coating and falls somewhere between yellow and the silver for quality.

Hi Tim... how did you solve the problem of the quick hitch not going on? I have a 1023e and have run into the same issue and trying to get the snowblower set up for winter. Thanks!

I missed the option to stack washers behind the single point arm when installing mine. I might have to do that. Getting the side cover off is pretty tricky right now.

Another excellent video. Your love of all things Deere is well -founded. I like the oil cooler you pointed out. I think JD is my choice even though the competitor (red) has a dealer in my backyard. JD is about 45 minutes away, or more.

I agree with the manufactures idea on the bolt packages as far as the say 3/4 sizes on up. anything smaller its easy to just keep the in boxs in the bens. could has same diameter but different lengths as well. that's how my shop is done.

Tim just curious, are the loader bracket uprights on backwards? I would think the place where the bolts are going thru, that has the protrusion, would lock into the cut out on the same side so they lock both pieces together once they are bolted in and torqued. Almost like gear teeth and how they mesh and lock into each other. It looks as if you crossed the sides up. Or are both pieces molded the same on both sides of the same piece or are they side specific? Just asking not saying my idea is correct.

I would love to see FENDT introduce compact and sub compact tractors because in our opinion no one make tractors like FENDT. We had JD and Case tractors over the years, but nothing is as reliable and efficient as FENDT, we work our land but we do a lot of custom work for local farmers, reliability and efficiency is paramount, our latest addition was two of 2021 FENDT VARIO 1000s and it is an absolute joy to run those. Currently we have a GC1725M which we really like and with 10 year warranty it offer piece of mind for a while. But I'd trade that in for FENDT the moment they offered one.

I've seen a lot of people struggle with the quick hitch. It takes a full wheel turn left or right so the steering bar will move out of the way enough to get in there... barely. I don't have one myself though. It's just what i have noticed.

A good tool to have is a Chinese finger tool from an old rear main seal replacement tool kit. Mine is from KD tools and you can still get them. Feed the finger from the outside, then insert the bolt into the finger and pull it through. Its very handy with situations like those frame bracket bolts. As far as bolts, I get mine by the pound from Farm and Fleet in grade 5 and grade 8 for SAE. They also have metric ones also. The hard to get bolts I get from McMaster Carr. You can get almost anything from them for a reasonable amount.

Saw someone mentioned heating to 400 degrees will cause loctite to break down. You may want to try loctite 290. It is a medium strength designed to 'Wick' into assembled threads. Designed for amusement park rides.

The new bolt bin looks like a good thing for any garage. I do enjoy the repair work episodes when you do them since they're a good change of pace. The front quick hitch bracket change was interesting and I''d be curious to see how it works with front blades, brooms, and snowblowers. Since you touched on the mower deck connection, will the drive shaft for a front mounted broom/snowblower be compatible?
