Good video :) I do like the red and silver 2 tone paint scheme on the T120, why can't they do something like that on the roadster triple range ? Hey even just the dark metallic red would be fine, the "cordovan" dark red from the bobber is nice, basically something other than shiny black or camouflaged grey. The blue on the street twin was pretty good too. It seems I must be in a minority, I like my Triumphs NOT to be black or grey. for the roadster range I think Triumph must have bought a massive amount of matt-grey, silver and black paint, or their chief artistic paint director keeps to like listening to the Rolling Stones "Paint it black". i.e. I see the red bike and I want to paint it black, No colours anymore I want them to turn black I see the Ducatis ride by dressed in their red clothes I have to turn my head Until my darkness goes I see a line of Triples and I've painted them all black ... sorry ! , I like brighter colours, even white with red high lights is okay !

Why hasn’t Triumph announced that the gearbox issue has been addressed? They released a TSB for the replacement part but haven’t even said that will rectify the issue or how it has been rectified. A case of if we don’t say there is an issue then they are not on the hook for it. Sad really.

Er no other bike, inc. BMW, has had a problem? Some singing the same old song.
@neilsmithers69793 жыл бұрын
I guess all products will naturally have a percentage of problems during their lifecycle, hopefully many of which will be overcome during the design evolution. BMW have certainly had many problems but a company can be judged not so much on what problems they have but how they handle them and how they treat their customers and in the instance regarding the Triumph gearbox reported by Mr Fillingham, Triumph handled the issue in a worrying manner. Hopefully that was an isolated incident and they have learnt from their mistakes and will value all future customers.

I do like that blue Street Twin, but in terms of aesthetics the first year is still the best imo (except for the headlight/speedo bracket). The side covers keep getting tortured, and keep getting worse; the last model's wheels were a visual disaster, so by default the new wheels are much better, but still not as good as the originals. I don't get it. Why would you spend almost £10k on a classic, plus accessories, when you could spend half that on a RE Interceptor and have plenty of cash to mod it if you were inclined to do so?
@splodge573 жыл бұрын
You're comparing a 1200cc bike with a 650cc. I think the 900cc Street Twin is better value than the RE when you compare the complete bike. Pays your money and takes your choice but you can't go wrong with either.
@timgomez10843 жыл бұрын
@@splodge57 you have to define what a classic means to you. But to me it means a bike that's a classic style and blank slate. Something I can adapt and personalise to suit my riding style and my personality. Despite my years of experience with motorbikes I would be afraid to take a spanner to the modern triumphs. When I look at the RE I know that I can strip that down with confidence and put it back together again. I know that I can uprate and customise that bike any way I want. I also know that I can buy a brand new bike, an engine remap, new tyres, suspension and luggage. Then still have at least £1200 spare compared to the cost of a street twin at £8200. Surely that makes more sense than buying an "out of the box" modern classic?

They all make sense to me. I've owned Norton, Triumph, BSA and now a 2001 Kawasaki W650. But would I like a new Street Twin in the Blue and Silver? Sure would and it looks good value to me at £8400.
