Hi, as new to Vespas I have watched a number of your videos, and I have learned a LOT from you. A have bought a 2019, 300 GTS Supertech, really nice, low milage and had only been in traffic for 11 months before I bought it. But the instrument outdoor temperatur read out is a joke. Is there any video about how to relocate the outdoor temperature sensor?

Aesthetically I would leave the chrome finished bits. More in harmony with this softer “delicate” gray. What’s missing on this model versus the Vespa website?? The site photo has a different exhaust configuration and a strange air filter looking box in front of the water pump cover 🧐

@@VespaMotorsport I’m referring to the 2021 Supertech photo on Vespa’s global website. storeusa.vespa.com/gts-super-tech-300.aspx select the 2021 gray option to see the photo.

@@piermantoani I stand corrected I believe you’re right. I saw a KZbin review of a 125 iGet that has the same square “cooler” box over the water pump and a different exhaust. But I was definitely mislead by the Vespa.com website. They still have the wrong image on the Supertech page, but depending on which path you use to navigate this site you could land on a totally different Supertech page with a different (but the correct) image. Typical Italian attention to detail (or lack of) on the “marketing and technical stuff” 🤌🏻 🇮🇹 🙄 Select the gray versions on each to see the results. storeusa.vespa.com/gts-super-tech-300.aspx wrong image www.vespa.com/us_EN/models/gts-super/gts-super-tech-300-hpe-2020/ correct image

Tks. much, Robot. 2006 or 2007 Piaggio 150 fly. New Carbuerator last August (2020). Runs fine, just won't do over an 'indicated' 65 or 67mph on level pavement with calm wind. Runs fine, so.....RIDE SALLY RIDE.

Love it, fantastic review as usual Robot! Just a remark regarding the euro 5 hpe engine. It’s slightly different, for instance the tech manual gives different values for the valves adjustment than the euro 4 hpe. Wonder if it has an impact on power distribution?

Hi, do you have any issues with spongy front feel to the brake lever after changing the caliper? I’ve fitted a Frando brake caliper and although it’s been bled correctly I cannot get rid of the spongy feeling.
@nikos-giorgos3 жыл бұрын
If you mean changing the brake pads (not the caliper) it is very common. It is not an issue, you just have to let the brake pads bed in, usually takes no more than 50-100km to start having some feel on the brake lever again.

“Is it me or”…”yup” (I hear you say) “it is you!” If you are going to design a bezel that differentiates the super tech from the other models, you would at least design the display to tie in with the outline. Having a plain rectangular edge to the display with idiot lights down each side and no attempt to marry it up to the rest of the styling by framing the display with a parallel shape looks unfinished. Compared to the ahem, lesser models which feature a very attractive analogue speedometer and digital display. Perhaps the firmware programming could include a theme / skin which mirrors the bezel. Harsh? Maybe, but if you are charging extra, and going to the expense of tooling up for one version, you might as well go the extra ‘erm kilometre. Okay so the TFT displays only come in rectangular shape, but it is still possible to work around that by using a plastic overlay to disguise. Live long and prosper!

For me the primavera looks more classy .I think the GT range look ugly & bulbous & also think 300cc is overkill on a classic style scooter more suited to slicing & dicing slow moving city traffic .Also not a big tech fan ,as it’s just more expensive to put right if & when it goes wrong .No doubt It will be welcomed to large acclaim by the Vesparatti cafe set ,but not for me .If I am riding a scooter larger than 200cc then it has to be a maxi styled model with a fairing & larger wheels for riding at higher speeds with greater road presence .

I have a 1971 Lambretta with 10" wheels, rear drum brake, that is 230cc and top speed of 90mph. My GTS300 Supertech has 12" wheels, front/rear disc brake and top speed of 85mph. I thought my Lambretta handled good, but I'm at total comfort at high speeds on the GTS.
@maskedavenger25783 жыл бұрын
@@jasonduncan7511 I wouldn’t put too much trust in the readings from Italian speedos they have been known to be as much as 10 to 20 mph over optimistic .A classic styled small wheel scooter is never going to handle at higher speeds ,or be as comfortable as a modern wind tunnel designed maxi scooter with larger wheels .Those old paraffin pisser Lambretta’s where never meant to be bored out to 230 cc & certainly not reliable .They were meant to chug around hilly Italian city’s ,like the Vespas & designed with tea trolly sized wheels to turn fast & weave in & out of slow moving city heavy city traffic .If you want real speed & ace handling ,a proper motorcycle is what’s needed they are made & designed for the job .
