What a sexy car. And that cockpit looks so futuristic.

Why does everybody think short people wouldn't like to raise up the seat? I am 160 cm hobbit (or 5'3"? for those who prefer measuring things with ancient corpses) and I always raise the seat as high as it goes. Why? Because I like seeing the road and not only the sky. I test drove the 308 SW and I find no issues with the steering wheel. I like it a lot, it's very handy to roll around. My only minuses for the car was the slow responsive automatic gear box (luckily on sports mode it could be shifted with flappy paddles) and the road noise, but it was not terrible, but maybe bit higher than average

We need more cool PHEVs in Canada. I have a RAV4 Prime, love the PHEV powertrain. EV for most daily driving but easy road trips with no range anxiety.

Anything with an ICE is obsolete. Pure EV is the only way to go.

@@SmartMart1658 it depends where you live. I traded two Teslas off because of the limitations of owing a BEV around here. Too bad Tesla makes junk too.

How easy is it to drive on electric only? Will the petrol engine always kick in going up steep hills or at 70mph on a motorway?
@jkre6 ай бұрын
With having owned 2 hybrids (not plug ins) before, I would recommend going steep uphills with petrol anyways, or the electric range drops too fast. But on the short test drive I had with 308, the ev mode was very easy and it didn't try to change to petrol. tough I didn't drive hills nor motorway speeds.

What’s the real life hybrid mpg?

25 miles EV range in real world according to review.

These cars that come in petrol or electric are so compromised I wouldn't want to buy one. The hump in the floor, the weird position of things, the shorter wheel base that affects cabin space etc.

Stellantis vehicles are garbage in the US. Are they also bad in the UK?
@1958plymouth440V83 жыл бұрын
Not really comparable at the moment, since they haven’t merged to extent of offering global products. Pre-merger, FCA vehicles were pretty terrible as expected but Peugeot & Citroen have come leaps and bounds in recent years.

In Malaysia, Stellantis cars sell much better than Ford and Chevrolet, really bad cars.

I'm really tired of listening this permanent nagging about the visibility of the dials, ever since iCockpit arived... I don't regard myself as a tall person (1.72m) and I have absolutely NO problem seeing the dials in my P508, not does my spouse (who is even smaller)... and that's without of having seat jacked high or having the steering wheel dropped to my knees! and the same was in P5008 that preceded 508... neither of us had ANY problems that car testers like to repeat like parrots.... the damn thing is like those stupid flowers somebody in some test stuck onto the dash of New Beetle two decades ago and then every test imaginable had them to.... get over it! or make an effort and try to adjust!

Thing is, in every other car you can select your normal driving position and be comfortable by default - you don't need to work around the equipment. As we mentioned, for some it'll work wonderfully, but for many (including some of our colleagues) it's just not quite right.

Agree. So many go on about this steering wheel. I’m 1.83cm my wife 1.69cm we didn’t have any problems

It depends where you live, if you have severe winter, how windy, how developed is DC charging. I went from BEV back to gas, PHEV is PERFECT for many people...
@DrivingElectric3 жыл бұрын
Pure EV is the "way to go" but plug-in hybrids like this are a worthwhile stepping stone for so many people. Not everyone has the same set of rigid circumstances; not everyone can charge at home. We'll continue to review HEVs and PHEVs until EV can cater for all.

Is far from "the only way to go". I could be travelling 250-300 miles plus in a day working an emergency standby rota, travelling to remote sites with limited charging available in sub freezing temperatures.
