This ride was a favorite of my family when we went to Disneyland. My grandma said she couldn't smell the oranges. One of the last times we rode it we asked her during that part of the ride if she could smell it and she finally said she could.

This should be the permanent attraction at California Adventure. I remember first riding this ride when CA first opened when I was a kid, and it was so cool and unique, and I think having the setting in California helped.

Love Love Souring Over California. It is my favorite. It should always stay in California Adventure. So EXCELLENT. Never get tired of it. If they want to keep Souring Over The World, perhaps make a separate ride for that. You can always add on. But souring over California should be a staple, after all, not everyone has seen California!!!!!

This is really need to see but having been on the Florida version first, I can really see where they made improvements from the California version to the Florida version, especially in terms of the transitions between the scenes. With the Florida version they will kick up a distraction like a spray of water or dust or a sharp turn to create a transition from scene to scene, with the California one it’s just straight cuts and it’s a little jarring. I’m surprised they never went back and added transitions into this one as well. Thanks for sharing though this is a great video it’s interesting to see the different versions since I haven’t been able to ride in person.

You mean the Around the World version? If that's the case, those transitions are all CGI. Like the elephant throwing sand. Rather the abrupt transitions to the intentional CGI infested ones.

I’m so happy they brought California back. As much as I hate this state, and hate Disney for all the crap they’re doing politically, Soarin is by far my favorite ride. World just wasn’t the same as California, and despite this state being a hellhole, it has its beautiful spots.

Compared to Soarin' Around the World, it's lame. No smooth transitions between scenes. No mention of fragrances or smells like World. No scenes of the California Poppy fields or the coastal hillsides with spring flowers. Half Dome? Nope. Giant redwoods or sequoias? Nope. Of all the Golf Courses to show in California and not Pebble Beach? I don't think this really displays some of the best California has to offer.

I absolutely love both Soarin rides. Over the years I feel like the resolution and brightness of the screen has gone down. Maybe it’s just the brightness and resolution of home TVs have gone up. Or maybe Im just getting old and macular degeneration is kicking in! Either way I’d love to see an upgrade to the picture quality. I haven’t been since last fall so hopefully when they went back to California, the picture quality improved…

Yikes... These jumpcuts in the scenes is terrible. For Disney, you'd think they would have used a fade or a wipe or something, and had it with the theme of the ride. Like each scene end/beginning should transition by flying up into the sky, the clouds or fog or something, and then back down into the new scene.

I wish the California version would be made the permanent version at DCA with Soarin Around the World being the seasonal 'special' version. The former was made specifically for DCA and the latter was made for the global parks and Epcot. Plus, IMO this version has better music and more motion.

Been a WDW girl my whole life, This is my first time seeing the over California video and I got to say it's really disappointing. Some of the sights are pretty but there's no transition at ALL. There's a couple places I would have liked to see in it, like a redwood forest, rather than a housing community. I'm glad we have soarin over the world as a primary
