The throw ball struggle is real lol. I think a lot of hunters are disregarding MRS in favor of SRS, but MRS is a great way to climb. Toting 75' of Predator isn't bad at all.

Yes I really do like the simplicity of MRS and how little equipment is required.

What saddle pouches are you using?

They come attached to the lockdown saddle.

Check out JRB Tree Climbing and Saddle Hunting. Its a far superior system and much safer. How you are descending is dangerous, especially without a backup.

I have seen a bunch of JRBs videos and they are fantastic. The descent method isn’t the safest as you mentioned but I don’t feel that it is dangerous for me. As long as I am holding the long end of the rope even if the knot gets loose I can hold myself up. This was really just a demonstration of a simple DRT method. There are better ways for all-around systems that are a little more complex like the JRB universal.

@@KW_W the Long Horn Agile DSRT is my favorite. Its so simple to tie and smooth as butter. But you really should use a backup autoblock or hitch of some kind.

I can’t believe that that foot ascender is only $17.I might have to try this out.

@@KW_W thats the problem though, "i can just hold onto the rope " sorry but if something happened and you slipped quickly, your not hanging onto that rope.

Rope climbing is fine for arborists, but isn't great for hunting. 2TC is what you want for hunting.
