Leave it to harley to sell you the same bike with a new paint job for 5k more, while also selling you the same bike from 30 years ago.

If they sold us the bike from 30 years ago we’d be happy. Pre twin-cam, pre magneti marelli, and certainly pre M8 I’d kill for a 93’ Springer or FatBoy.

@@Heavywall70 i wish they would start up the sporty 750 line again and along with a 600 model. Build them to be sporty like the old flat track bikes. Keep the old track styling but try to dump as much weight as possible by using more modern light weight material and tune them for speed rather then torque. Then level the pricing somewhere around 8-10k.

That Highway King is wonderful, and orange is even better than red, in my opinion of course. The price is... meh! I don't like much many Harley Davidsons models, because the front of many of them is so huge that it looks like a piece of a car. I love models like Fat Bob and now, the Highway King. Thanks for the video!

My first harley was a 1968 FLH electra glide in blue .i bought in the year of 1979. It was a trade in at the honda shop where i was already an employee for the last four years .and i dont see one in this collection in blue ..over all the trim is the same as the 1968 which is pretty cool ... The replicas of king of the baggers are awesome...kyle wyman demode one on track and it was only a few seconds under his factory sponsored race unit ...i like the blue one with the white racing stipes that is 1968 camaro z/28 blue that had those same white wide racing stripes .. not real crazy about the new big twin engines still having a chain driving the cam ..and for around $3k you can go to all gear drive with a billet cam plate from Fueling and the cam from S&S ....one time a co- worker said his brother worked at foundry in Chicago that made only flywheels and connecting rods. Half of all they made were shiped to the harley davidson factory and the other half were shiped to S&S ...true story ..so this little tid bit of info should end all arguments about quality ...that both companies allow to rage on ! BTW ! I overhauled my first harley not knowing what you can get away with ..so i sort of went to extremes with a complete new bottom end assembly and top end assembly with the flywheels assembled and no conrods installed and set up with ZERO runout in took everything to the Precision Balance Company of Indianapolis , indiana and allowed them to do their voodoo on the fly wheels and you get a spec sheet of the weights of every piece to the gram and then you have to take the flywheels apart to in stall the conrods and then you have to ZERO the crank runout again or you will be wasting your time and money already ..spent lucky for me i was working with an engine builder who was dedicated to seeing this project through and spent the time to ZERO out the crankshaft flywheels to ZERO twice that is not eazy to do..but the results paid off ..i ended up with a 74 cu.in. engine + 0.010" over that old harley riders probably would not care to ride ...the rumble and vibration was gone . .it was more like a honda shadow only much smoother through out the rev range with a noticable increase in power .to co-workers at the honda shop challenged me to a simultaneous drag race for a distance of around a 1/4 mile ..one on a 1979 honda CB750F Super Sport 4into1. Kerker Tuned Header , Carbs jetted , 4 individual K&N air filters with built in velocity stacks and a one tooth smaller transmission output shaft drive sprocket .. the other rider was on a 1972 triumph 650 tiger parallel twin that was like new low miles all original that the owner had bought out from under me from the same honda dealer we bought worked for ..seems as i was test riding the tiger against mikey on his new PE 250 suzuki claim he could beat me up and back to jerry mace motocross track and flat track as i won hands down no contest for the 300 pound very fast tiger that do the ton and much more on dirt ..that while i was out screaming the shit out of my buddy paid the boss $500 bucks cash for it ...i paid the boss $1500 for the hog and put another $1500 into the engine but back to our little three man drag race to all of our surprises my very 1$t harley beat the shit out of both the honda and the triumph ..go figure that one as i still dont believe it myself but it was pitiful as they didnt have a snowball chance it hell...i not only got the hole shot the old hog kept gaining distance on the honda and the triumph ...besides the balance job i had already replaced the cam with a low profile andrew "A" grind that was way less lift and duration than the stock FLH cam that was harley's wildest in 1968 ...but i did grind out the intake ports a bunch and the intake manifold to match a huge andrew adjustable main jet carburator ..and port and polished out the exhaust ports with two muffled shorty duals then took it out on I-70 pinned the locked throttle and reached down and turned out the andrews adjustable main jet for the best top end to oh wow its fast and left it there before i raced the boys might have had something to with it plus they ask me at what rpm i would be operating the engine for best balance of which i had no idea about such things and told them at indy to set it for 7000 rpm and install andrews solid lifters ! Hehe ..just the other day of about 40 years later i seen my old '68 electra glide in blue ..brought tears to my eyes ..it was in the shop were it began life and no longer blue as i would of never recognized it ...rattle can flat black no chrome no nothing but full of dents and road rash and road rage a complete rat bike with a big huge S&S sidewinder carb with a big S&S velocity stack to match and about 6 inch long homemade drag pipes ...plum pathetic looking ..thats when the son of the owner who had work so hard with me to build it says to me "what did you and dad to to this thing to make it so fast " as it still had the original built motor me and big jack of "the shop" on poplar st. In terre haute ,indiana put together 40 years ago ...and here's the kid asking me what big jack who had already past away did and me to make it so fast ? I just stood there in shock and aw that it was still running after being owned by the 4th owner all gearheaded millennials who dont know harleys have a limit ...and said nothing

72 comments all from critics of the brand . Most of which in there comments says they have never own one or ridden on one ....and it cant be the price anymore with sport bike costing as much or more for 2023 ....base price of a honda gold wing @ $33,000 is a bit pricey vs nicely equiped harley baggers starting at $20k and the most you will pay loaded is still under $30k unless you are demannding you will only ride exotic harleys of the Custom Vehicle Operations division call CVO between $20k - $70k that even matt laidlaw of hd of southern cal hd said can be a rip off but the elite who buy them dont care as long as its got the cvo logo

People know what they get with a Harley, bike enthusiasts can’t act surprised. I own 2 Harley’s and I enjoy them for the sound and the customization done to the ones I have. Is Harley the best motorcycle brand, absolutely not but it’s the brand for me and my style. Yamahas are some of the best bikes in my opinion, I don’t care how cheap people say they feel or look, Yamaha is badass and of course Indian is top tier motorcycle brand over Harley

Why do so many complain of 'Old bikes' or 'old tech' with Harley? This same guys go nuts for retro bikes for every other manufacturer. Harley is not old tech. That's like saying a Dodge Challenger is old tech. These simpletons haven't a lick of sense. And For at least the last 40 years all I've heard is Harley needs to change, or they'll soon go out of business. Yet, here they are. Still.

The millennials think that pushrod overhead engines are obsolete technology although the new zo6 corvettes have a v8 ohv two valve pushrod engine of a designed back in the early 1950's by russian emigrate who defected from the ussr that gm some 70 years later is still using the same basic design of a ohv engine of yesterday proving well beyond todays critics are just plain stupid and ignorant to make comments about anything mechanical and manly .

I ride a Triumph 1200 2022 because I wanted an old looking bike that has modern tech. Harleys are for guys that WANT the bike to be and feel old but have 0 km on the clock. And to be fair tons of harleys on the used market with 200,000 -300,000km on the clock. While they're old the engine seem to keep on chugging. I don't know why you're complaining. You're clearly not harley's target customer.

Harley Davidson is like Omega Watches, making "special" editions of the same models over and over again won't make the brand more appealing to new customers. We want modern bikes from Harley with revolution max engines : a 1250 engine naked bike like the Bronx (150hp-160hp), a 975 engine medium size smaller Pan America like adventure bike, a 975 scrambler (100hp max), a 1250 revolution max Low Rider S (150hp), a 1250 revolution max super charged cruiser with Vrod custom looks (200hp) with a 240 tire, all with 6 axis IMU, cornering ABS, traction control, ride by wire ride modes, inscreen navigation (round screen), 320mm brembo stylema dual brakes.
