All your reasoning/thoughts/motivations were exactly the same as mine, right down to the skepticism regarding the audio thing. We even got the same trailer, albeit a single.

That's awesome! How do you like the speakers? My wife likes it when we're going to be riding for awhile to give her something to do rather than state at my back, but I find the speakers a bit of a pain. I don't like how they shut off every time the motor starts or stops. Sometimes I want to shut the motor off and bob around for awhile but still hear music. I don't like having to reconnect every time and then again when we start it up and get going.

Just have the one, the yellow/blue colorway. It's great. A few little things I'd change or add, not much. Cruise assist is most useful. Now thinking of getting a wetsuit so as to start riding early in spring, haha.
@MarkDHall Жыл бұрын
@@innocentbystander3798 That's what we want to do too. We went out early in the spring when the air and water temps were in the 40s. We should have had wetsuits. I love the cruise assist, but I wish it allowed us to operate it without holding the handle. Sometimes my right hand gets tired, and I want to rest it, so I reach over and try driving with my left hand, which works for a minute or two, but then it starts to feel awkward.

Shopping around now and was interested in knowing what you paid for the VX ? Depending on the area of the country I see some different pricing. I guess its up to the dealerships...... (im on the west coast). My aunt had a house in Wolfeboro and I miss the lake a lot. Great place!! Enjoy guys!!!
@MarkDHall Жыл бұрын
Hi Chaz. They were $13,199 with the factory audio. I didn't really want the audio, but the dealer said that's how they order them. That is full MSRP. The dealer didn't offer discounts, but they did offer a "boat show special" because we bought them at a boat show. It included 3 life jackets, a coast guard kit and a cover. Dealer told us they can't sell them above MSRP, and I don't think they offer discounts.

How is towing two jet skis with the Jeep, I currently have a 2010 Sahara but I feel like if I get another ski it would struggle to tow two of them
@MarkDHall Жыл бұрын
Towing is pretty good. I looked up the towing capacity, and it says the 2010 can tow between 1000-3500 depending on gear ratio, and I imagine 2 or 4 doors would affect that too. Our 2 door has a 2000 tow rating compared to a 4 door, which is 3500. It also has 4.10s rear gears, which gives it some extra oomph so the engine doesn't get bogged down.

@MarkDHall Жыл бұрын
Hi James. You are right in the ballpark. We paid $13,199 each for the WaveRunners themselves. They have the audio, which I didn't really want, but they all seem to come with it. If you don't want that and can find one without it, they're $12,499. The double trailer was like $3500. Can't remember exactly. In our state, we had sales tax plus registration and a few other fees. Hope that helps!

I have a 2022 VX Cruiser, and the only difference between the 2022 and the 2023 is the color schemes. Once you use the pop-up cleats, you will wonder why anybody would get a jetski without them. They are really that convenient. I also have the audio system, and once I finally figure out how to make it work, I know I'm going to love it. Although it has a no wake mode, just cruising in idle puts you at a no wake 3 mph speed. One last thing, ALWAYS make sure you have the drain plugs screwed in before you put the jetski in the water. If you don't, when you put the jetski on the trailer and pull it out of the water, you'll say something like "Man, that's a lot of water draining out of the back!" LOL!
@MarkDHall Жыл бұрын
Hi! I agree about the cleats. We haven't used them yet, but after thinking about the cleats, I'm totally happy we have them. The no wake feature sounds great! Will definitely save pressure on my hands. Thank you for the tip about the drain plugs. We actually bought a couple spares just in case something happens and we lose one. Not having one would ruin a trip.

Do they have a cover? Do you have to store them inside ?
@MarkDHall Жыл бұрын
Hi Castaway Kay! Thank you for watching! The dealer we bought them from only had one cover in stock, but they ordered more, and it will hopefully be here in a month or two. We're located in Connecticut and found a dealer who has a genuine Yamaha one, but it was over $300. My son told me use the Yamaha one we got, but he didn't want to spend $300, so he ordered a generic one online. The Yamaha one is definitely a better fit and heavier duty than the generic, but my son likes the generic one and said he'll probably alternate between it and the Yamaha one when his comes in. We would love to store them in our garage, but the tandem trailer is a little too wide. It's about 102" wide, which is a couple inches bigger than our garage. We've seen some videos and webpages where people slide them off the trailer and put them on some kind of dolly so they can wheel them around and store them in places where trailers don't fit. I'm not sure if I want to do this, but Matt said he'd like to try it so we can store them in the winter. Because it gets cold here, we'd still have to winterize them if we put them in the garage, but it would be nice to keep them out of the elements during the winter.

I find it interesting that some models are not available in certain regions. If you can't get the VX Cruiser, the VX Deluxe is very similar, but has a different seat and doesn't have the 2 cleats the Cruiser has. I hope that translates well. I don't speak French and I used an online translator to write it.

These are no longer pwc's there small boats that can only hold 3 people max 😂
@MarkDHall9 ай бұрын
I agree, but states like New Hampshire are trying to get them banned. Currently in NH a "Ski craft" is defined as being limited to carrying 2 people, and PWCs that can legally carry 3 people are considered boats, but a new bill was just introduced that will change the definition of "Ski craft" to "Personal watercraft" and the definition expanded to include modern PWCs, which will restrict them from more than half the lakes in the state. Here's a writeup that tells a bit about it: awahq.org/2024/01/25/new-hampshire-personal-watercraft-ban-information/

@MarkDHall what the heck that's crazy! I own a boat and ski's. I will say I have more issues with idiots on pwc's. Lots of power and no experience. I feel in order to rent they make you take a class to ride. I think that would knock off most of the idiots renting them. We have lakes in my area that separate ski's and boats from each other For someone like me who owns both that sucks if I want to take both at the sametime but I understand why they did it
@MarkDHall9 ай бұрын
@@jeffbryner5355 We don't have a boat anymore, but boats and PWCs drive badly around here. I think all the New England states (and NY) require a Safe Boating Certificate. In CT, where I live, the course is 8 hours for a boat, and a PWC endorsement requires an additional 2 hour course. In NH, where we go a lot, renters of a PWC or boatare required to take a short test to get a temporary SBC that's good for a limited time if they don't have a permanent one. I think they're allowed to get a temporary one once. We see so many boaters and PWC users who don't have a clue how to navigate the buoy systems and end up riding through rocks, and they don't know who has the right of way or that you need to slow down under bridges. The thing with PWCs is they're not like in the past. They're quiet, have efficient engines and create very small wakes. Wake boats that people surf off of make huge waves and cause more damage to the shoreline, so they can't say they want to ban them to protect the environment. They do it in small steps and eventually you won't be able to use boats anywhere. First, PWCs (Ski crafts) that hold 2 people, then PWCs that hold 3. Then boats over X-feet long. Then boats over X-horsepower. Then small aluminum fishing boats...and eventually no motor boats of any type. Unrelated, If you ever want to see people struggling to launch, dock and use their boats, watch the "Miami Boat Ramps" and "Alfred Montaner" channels.
@jeffbryner53559 ай бұрын
@MarkDHall yeah my skis are from the 90s fully built and fully loud-ish haha. We do require a boating license for 12-15 years of age but it's a 3 hour test. I made my 12 year old take it before he rode our skis. I honestly think you and I will be long gone before they get around to deleting all pwc's/boats.

@@jeffbryner5355 I got my boating certificate when we didn't own and then said, "Hey, I got this certificate. We should buy a boat." It was all downhill after that. Haha. I think if they tried to do something with boats, people would flip out because there are so many boaters. PWCs users are a relatively small amount comparatively.
