The Audi A6 Avant e-tron hints at the futurescape of electric range for tomorrow’s production vehicles.
Located between the axles, a scalable battery module that can be adapted to the motor requirements forms the heart of this forward-looking solution on which the Audi A6 Avant e-tron concept is also based. Thanks to variable sizing, less powerful models can be equipped with a smaller, lighter battery. What’s more, making use of the entire vehicle base provides a comparatively flat layout for the battery. This is not only essential for vehicles with dynamic architecture but also enables quattro drive. On the exterior, a black inlay highlights the battery housing above the rocker panel that connects the wheel arches.
Depending on the drive and model variant, a production version based on the Audi A6 Avant e-tron could deliver a range of over 700 kilometres (according to the WLTP standard) going forward. The Audi A6 Avant e-tron has an 800-volt system and a charging capacity of up to 270 kilowatts. These promising prospects are possible thanks to the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE).

This is amazing, I love the A6's. This is will be my new spaceship. The thing I love about Audi's is they look good for years down the line if you take care of them. I saw a 2014 that I would have mistaken for a later model if it was not for the circular tailpipes.

@@b213videoz But it looks like a really sportive Kombi, even it is a fully E-vehicle. Most of the successors, when the platform is changing from combustion to E-drivetrain, will have the problem that the chassis will come up. This is because of the hight of the battery box. Like the crossovers. But this design is still elegant and sportive, or ? And all of the new designs of the big OEMs will have this typical face with the slitted eyes. This is, because of the new LED technology.

Tell me about it. I have test drive Teslas like 7 times and they are nice cars, but compared to established companies like Audi and other big manufacturers Tesla cars look plain and simple. Another beautiful Audi wagon. My only gripe are the silver protrusions on the back bumper, but otherwise it's sleek, elegant, but also still quick and interesting looking. Also digging the fabric interior rather than black leather, and thank G-d there's no giant floating screen.

@@TheWontonFreak I would not say this looks like a space ship. It's in line with their higher end A8 etc.. as far as design language. Obviously EV s will have a different grill since there is no water cooled radiator. But the E golf is allot more affordable to the masses. The EV's that BMW, Mercedes, Audi offer are not reasonably priced. Even the tesla model three is around 50K base and it no longer qualifies for the federal rebate. Probably why Tesla is in a downward spiral. Also should add the e gold range is abysmal. This audi will get 100 miles more on a charge and even that is not great compared to what Tesla offers. But for the price point a base model e golf is allot more practical. As long as you have an ICE vehicle for a backup.

Interesting to see how the long time Audi lovers hate the way Audi is developing their cars and those customers are replaced by Tesla fanbase who are mostly interested about useless light shows and futuristic look. New Audi A6 looks fine, but I can't say it is better looking than old generations. At least Audi isn't making such aerodynamically orientated cars than Mercedes did with the EQS, but I think it is going that way..

Yeah definitely nice looking. I doubt however that they will have a functioning software package to back it up. This is where Audi has lost me as a long time Audi fan. My last three Audi's have progressively gotten worse as far as software is concerned. I can't see them turning this around any time soon. I'd rather have a slightly less awesome design with a totally awesome software package and the future is definitely trending in this direction. Also insanely expensive.
