I have owned a 2019 Audi e-tron prestige and now a 2023 Audi e-tron Chronos launch edition and I would wholeheartedly recommend an e-tron over any other EV at this time! I love the massaging seats, use them continuously and the heated end ventilated seats are also a very nice touch. The 2023 model ads heated steering wheels which is not available in the 2019 models and increases the range from about 200 mi to approximately 226 mi on a full charge. Love the fact that this looks like any other luxury SUV and not a spaceship on wheels. It's a beautiful car, rides incredibly well, whisper quiet. The 2023 also adds wireless Android auto which is amazing, completely eliminates the need for the car's own navigation system which will probably no longer be offered in several years. Android auto shows maps on the screen with real-time traffic, accident, speed trap etc data as well as automatically suggesting alternate routes when traffic is bad. So many things to love about these e-trons, and really no negatives.

Quite superficial reasons, owning a Tesla for 4 years in a cold climate I have first hand experience that every EV has significantly decreased range in the winter. Can't blame the car for lack of infrastructure.

I own one and I love it. I only drive 25 miles 4 days a week and the other 3 days may equal up to 100 miles. So I drive 200 miles a week and I plug it up every 3rd day to top it off. I drives well, it's luxurious like a CAR and not a computer on wheels, it is very well built and it's prestigious. I've seen other videos about reasons to hate the etron and they had superficial reasons like you did. NOthing really mechanical.

I am a huge fan of this car, and passed unique oportunity to own it. (had it for a week). Honestly, for me 205 miles is plenty, since i would never drive 30--miles on a single shot. I would stop for coffee and plug it in fast charger. Nearly no maintenance on it is another +. So for me a great little known car. Sad they keep high resale value still and won't come down a bit (2019 models)...

Sorry pal, your video scared me a little bit in the beginning, because I am planning to own one. However, after seeing it I can honestly say: those are all invalid reasons. I am researching this vehicle for the past 3 years and I am pretty confident I will own it probably towards the end of this year or the next year. 1. Audi states accurately the range of 205 miles which is spot on (my experience /had it for a week/ and other users. forums, reviews, journals etc.) 2. Transition from regular fuel car to this EV is second to none. Level of possibilities and Standard equipment is insane. (all the electronics and autonomy is actually overwhelming /Adaptive Cruise Control Package/ and I am in the IT field). 3. Long trip in Audi's, yes, seats get uncomfortable and cause back pain. This is known about Audi's (I owned A3's, Allroad etc). They are solid leather seats, and stiff in the beginning but I think they are designed to last looong time. They wont fall apart as in other cheaper brands (However they get much better over time). Leather quality and quality of stitching is impressive. (Prestige comes with massage seats, definitely plus for Grand Tourer). 4. EV Charging stations are popping like mushrooms lately, so any major corridor in US is definitely not and issue. (of course 150kW is a must). Car has very impressive recuperation as well and adds coasting unlike other EV's. 5. In Canada I would 100% order model with Cold Weather Package which pre-heats batteries + all seats, so range would not be that impacted in cold months. I would recommend to find Canadian fella on KZbin who actually crossed entire Canada west to East when charging stations were sparse (2019). It just takes little planning, but car can do that for you as well. There many more reasons to the advantage of Etron, price can definitely can be an issue for some people, but here in US we get tax credit on car like this as well. Lastly, I would like to mention when comparing to Tesla, this car is far better equipped even in base Premium+, drives like regular car and is actually better priced in terms what you get for money..... I hope you're not upset as this is not and vitriol type of comment, just my take on Etron... (additional edit --- trunk height---, I believe you have it high probably on offroad mode (in video). Try to lower it to highway -sport setting, car comes down a bit. It is still an SUV type of car, cargo loading wont be the same as in sport sedan f.e. )

All EVs take a range hit in the winter. My Chevy Bolt drops from 450km to 320. If you don't have a work or home charger, then owning an EV in Canada may not be the right decision. It's crazy how convenient charging alters your perception of EVs. No matter how luxurious the vehicle is, your whole experience will be tainted without proper charging infrastructure. I find it's best to rent gas cars for road tripping in winter months. 45bux gets you a decent sedan.

This video really does a disservice to the e-tron. My 2019 e-tron. The model you had is the Premium or Premium Plus, which is not worth it. But pay slightly more for the Prestige model, and most of your issues disappear. This is my 3rd EV, and the one I’m sticking to. Previously had the Tesla Model Y Long Range, and the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Prestige adds a host of things including more adjustable seats, heated and cooled seats, massage seats, adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist etc. The seats are the most comfortable seats I’ve had in 35 years of owning cars including some expensive luxury cars. On long road trips this is the nicest car I’ve driven. Yes, its overall range prior to the Q8 version is low, but put it into efficiency mode, and you get a lot more than the official range (I average 260 miles on road trips). Also, the e-tron’s differentiator is that it charges from 80% to 100% as quickly as it does from 20% to 80%, so when you stop at superchargers, you can charge to 100%. In reality, I have to make less stops for charging with this than I did with my 2020 Model Y LR. This is one of the nicest EVs to drive out there, and my 2019 is nicer to drive than a new BMW iX M50. Far nicer steering. Quiter, more luxurious, and still sporty enough.

My 2021 Audi e-tron with 56,000 miles lost a lot of range suddenly November 2023. A 100% charge range of only 171 miles. An 80% charge range of 156 miles. This never went back up either. The temperature never went below 50° outside. I always charge at 80% unless I'm taking a trip And I do this every night at home. I rarely use a fast charger unless I'm taking a trip and need to get home. I spoke to Audi about this and they said the battery health was fine, battery degradation was normal and that there were no error codes so the battery was in good health. This is ridiculous to me. Not to mention that a $75,000 vehicle is now only worth $32,000 for trade in value. And now the e-tron has a battery recall due to a fire risk. Before the battery issues, the car was one of my favorites. And I was all on board the electric vehicle evolution. Not so much now.

Do it again for another week. 250km is not what I drive in a week even. It would take me probably two or maybe even three weeks to drive 250km. How much does it cost to charge if you don't mind my asking? How much do you have to pay, in other words, to travel 250km? As for the seats I find that hard to believe. We have an A4 and the seats are amazing. Seats are similar across the entire audi range but in a big car like the etron you probably sit a little higher than say our a4? Something to consider.

Battery longevity is affected by both hot weather and cold weather, also on hot days you are using aircon and that also shortens your range. Some manufacturers like Toyota are even questioning if electric is the way to go-they are big into fuel cell technology as well as hydrogen, it’s why they’ve been so slow in creating their own EV. Maybe EV’s will one day become a weird and temporary footnote in the evolution of the automobile. I’m sticking to old school internal combustion for time being.

We have an e-tron 50 since March 2020, meaning we have the smaller battery with the shorter range - and we live with cold Norwegian winters. No issues. Always warm and charged car in the morning, and plenty of chargers on longer road trips. Also, we always stop for coffee and/or toilet visits anyway, and charging is done quicker than the coffee break. As for your other negatives, I guess those are personal opinions, as we don’t share the same. Only two negatives from us is the crappy reverse light and camera which are not helping much in the dark. First of all I'm not saying your wrong I'm just giving my opinion. Or a different view on some of the things you brought up. 1. Yes the Range isn't class leading but you know that before buying it, also the 2019 2020 etron has an amazing DC Fast Charging curve. Then the winter range is an issue for all Electric cars. The Charge Curve is so good in my opinion makes up for this. In 2024 the '19 or '20 is a great value, you can find the Top Trim the Prestige Package for around 30k to 35k. These were 70k an higher when they were new. The best Value in 2024 is the 2019 or 2020 Etron Prestige Trim. So many add ons with that trim it's amazing. Have a Great Day Everyone Remember a few times a week too try an spread EV education to someone, as misinformation is one of the biggest problems for EV adoption. Lack of education is why Range Anxiety is such a large issue in the US.

You should not buy it if you dont like it, I get that.. If you have more money, then buy something better and if you have lesser money, buy something cheaper with other personal negativities. Your beef is road trips. If you want to go on road trips, buy ICE or maybe a Tesla. This isn't the car for you. For a commuter car, it's great.

At that price point?!😂 you have to pay extra for luxury, it’s not a Toyota or Honda. I have no issues charging my Etron and the seats are 100 times better than my Chevy, Toyota and doges. You just have to plan your trips better and I never got more than 250 miles out of any of my gas cars that were supposed to get 300-500 in miles to the tank. It literally only takes 30 min to charge at a fast charger.

This is a poor review. Where are the specifics? How long did you spend waiting to charge in Niagara? What is “kinda far” and what is a “little bit”? Did you charge it to 100% or could you have gotten away with 80%. How does the trunk space compare to the none Etron Audi equivalent? How does the cost compare to other EVs in that class? What does “quite a bit expensive” mean bro?

No electric car is going to save you money unless you drive a lot of miles like a salesman. The etron gt battery is aroun 50k cdn so the regular one is likely similar. This is without installation. Santa monica audi has it listed at $36500 US. So the car has to be scrapped when the battery fails for those that keep their cars for many years. I found out one had a damaged battery from ice and snow getting through the broker wheel well cover and the car had to be scrapped.

i hear the same comment all the time. PEOPLE you don't change the entire battery! there 36 modules and you replace only defective ones or the ones that wont hold capacity anymore and adjust them (via software) to match output of other ones..... gosh.... when you finally stop with this replace entire battery crap...
@paull3179
@paull3179 4 ай бұрын
@@peterolsovsky Where I live it is the whole battery. One Hyundai got a quote for 60,000cdn and teslas are much cheaper at around 26k from what I have seen and sometimes they provide a cheaper rebuilt one. In the US there are companies that can repair them.

For anyone that cares about ease of maintenance Audi//Porsche are still going to need similar interval maintenance minus oil changes. They’re still following the dealership service model even with their EV’s. Don’t expect a Tesla-like ease of maintenance experience.

Wasted time for nothing. Range is about speed and driving style. You can get a better range. The seats are Audi seats, one of the best in the market. You don't like Audi, ok, but when you do a review just try to be neutral...

Paid anti-Audi video???😅😅..Audi has the best EV on the market…All EV batteries gloss range in cold weather..Trunk space is fine…2022 EV rides quiet, comfy seats, seat warmer, lots of bells and whistles….Any issue with an Audi EV is usually an issue with all EVs…Amount of charge, public charging stations etc…Irrelevant video..
