Thanks for your honest review. Clearly these clones are better value than the pixelated fashionista line. I only prefer Mattel for its diversity but I am sick of poor quality and cheap fashions. The last Barbie extra wave was superb and then it was discontinued. I definitely will buy some of these clone dolls. The fabrics are more fun than any shapeless fashionista doll of the latest wave.

Wow, what a surprise. Here in Mexico, the Defa Lucy dolls are called Brittany and they are exclusive from Walmart. The are cheaper than Barbies and the quality of their faces and costumes are better. They sell very well.

You can use a hair dryer to remove the warping on the legs Kamy, the orange haired one gives me Kimber from Jem and the Holograms vibes, what I find with these is they give more opportunity to mix and match pieces than the extras that have very specific looks that don't really mix well between them... I think if you were to find these on local shops the price would be much lower, but they include the shipping costs and the platform's fees on the prices you paid so that's why they're in a similar price range than Fashionistas and Extras. I didn't see the influence of that Barbie in the tropical dress at first sight until you pointed it out, good eye!

You can probably fix the bending and discoloration. For the bending use heat from a hair dryer or hot water and gently bend back into place. And for the discoloration try rubbing alcohol or bleaching with UV light. If you go the UV route cover up the parts you don't want bleached. You stick the doll in direct sunlight or use a UV light for nails.

here in Mexico, the Defa Lucy girls came as Brittany and i love them!! i have the wave 2 and 3 of the "delux" dolls and they're gorgeous!! and yes, the dark skin one with braids is beautifull!! i love the outfits and the shoes!! they come with some random accesories but the dolls are very nice!! also, i don't know if is a store thing but, right now, they're on discount at walmart and they didn't came very expensive.

I'm in love with these face sculpts especially the DF57 and the face screenings are so clean and retro 😍 I wonder if Defa Lucy realizes these dolls are probably going to have a cult collector following? There's a few that I really liked from these. I feel that the quality of the bodies are possibly questionable, especially the ones with the articulated bodies but I do appreciate the variety of skin and hair colours as well as the different fashion looks. The glossy lipstick is lovely. My favourites are the the dark skinned curly haired doll in the orange two piece, the blond in the tropical flower dress and the girl from the faux-extra dolls with the amazing bob with plaits! Because some of them seem to be dressed in quite retro styles they kind of win me over more than the Fashionistas in their t-shirt dresses.

Yes, the fashion maybe is very tacky, but the quality is definitely better than Barbie. And I got excited for them. We have a lot of them available in my country. I am going to order them rn, they are very affordable

I actually just dyed my Defa Lucy doll hair! And it worked! So this particular one with the pigtails and the heeled feet has a nylon blend! ( I recorded it if you want to see!)

I don’t care for the Clone of the Extra but I do like the Clone of the Fashionista Line and I’ll probably buy all of those. In USA, I can find Fashionistas for as low as $5.99, which is my buy point. Extra dolls, I can find for as low as 9.99. Not all of them at those low prices but enough to be happy. I’m hoping the Defa Lucys I can buy on sale.

The articulated Fashion Beauty clothing all fit the Standard Barbie body, but they do NOT fit the curvy, petite, tall or athletic Body. The Fashion Girl clothing, one or two of the bottoms (striped sailor Shorts of the red haired girl, curly hair girl's skirt) might be too tight for the current Standard Barbie Body since they're fitted for the slimmer waistline. I think the rest fits though. Hope to have helped. ☺️

Some of these dolls have cute faces. Re-rooting the hair (if someone needs better quality hair like saran or nylon hair) might be a good option. But... We don't know how this cheap plastic their heads are made of acts after some time, so it's not a good idea to invest in "Defa Lucy" hybrid and DIY dolls IMHO.
