They should focus more on the fashion packs and play sets. Too many face molds etc is costing them a lot to produce.

I love my Malibu girls and Ken. Love the diversity of today's dolls but they are so cheap looking and feel like cheap dolls I used to get from Family Dollar when I was a kid.

I’m so glad Millie face was so basic and never belonged on Barbie! I want extra, glam, girly, pink obsessed, diva Barbie back!

The Bob Mackie sculpt will forever be iconic but Barbie’s face is finally serving c*nt again and I’m here for it. I still hate the stiff, hollow legs and the cheap clothes of the play line but at least the clothes can be swapped out for something nicer and custom for those that can sew.

I like the Odile face mold, like is so pretty, but I don’t want it to be the standard. The look doesn’t look like most the dolls and takes away from the uniqueness most the Barbie face molds have now. I think they should have like it’s own brand for that face mold (like MyScene did back in the day) and have the Millie Mold or a more realistic looking one be for like the Fashionistas’ line.

Several Mattel designers went to Hasbro between 2013-2014. I worked on Careers and So In Style, my friend Olivia worked on Fashionistas, my friend Odette designed ALL of the houses, Sharon (who created the Top Model line and designed the Byron Lars dolls) also went to Hasbro, and my friend Angie who managed the Barbie Fantasy development team also left for Hasbro. I tried to convince Garret Sander to come on board, but Mattel gave him a huge pay raise- and then proceeded to kick him off of Monster High because he didn’t agree with the reboot that killed the line. Not a coincidence that sales plummeted after our mass exodus.

The odile face mold lookslike a modern 1975 malibu Barbie . But the doll looks beautiful.

It’s sad they are often seen in the Monster High bootleg range, they were so unique and beautiful. I‘m glad I was able to still get a few recently without overpaying and hope to find another 2 or 3.

Preach! The new Barbie dentist is so bad I hope it doesn't sell at all. I don't believe in the in lazy, but this Barnie design is an exception.

I don’t like millie but odile should not be the new standard face mold, imo. Too plastic surgery-y. I think we are over that aesthetic. Barbie has always been artificial but her face molds were rather kind than sexy and more on the natural side.

¿? En absoluto ese molde se ve operado! Se ve una carita dulce y femenina con un toque sensual y un pelín “engreído” pero dentro de un aspecto natural, tierno, delicioso y suave.

@@Alma-1000no sorry but even for Barbie standards it does, also because it is the beauty surgery proportion standard, extremely tiny nose, tinier than any other barbie face mold and much more voluminous lips, cat eyes. Clear case.

can't believe how many my scenes you have! takes me back to my high school days. my faves were NOLEE and MADISON. and the boys.

when my scenes were produced, i was a teen. i immediately abandoned barbies for that entire era and obsessively collected my scenes. i had an entire display in my room dedicated to them, little scenes I arranged with all my characters interacting and whatnot. i spent hours dressing and posing them, what a nerd i was. then i eventually moved around, lost most of my dolls and put collecting on hiatus until i grew up and had children. these days, i'm more focused on face sculpt variations and articulation, idk if my scene can capture my heart again due to my upgraded standards. but the fashions might intrigue me enough to buy.

the set looks blah, but the doll might be great for people still needing to add more ODILE sculpts to their collection, who plan to restyle or body swap anyway.

I HAVE NO objection to odile becoming the new official barbie character face mold... I'm so sick of BBBB millie. I just hope they also use the Odile in more hair colors and skin tones, while they're at it.

As somebody who has been a collector of dolls for a few years...I want an experts' insight on how value is determined. All that I really know is (what should be common sense) just because something is labeled as "rare" or expensive doesn't automatically mean it's worth spending all that money on it.

To get in touch with a doll I own like take her our of the shelf, redress her, do her hair, take photos or just look at all the beautiful details is really a key to appreciate them more, it’s like falling in love over and over again. I‘m only collect about a year now and in this time I went from keep them in box (but always felt I want to take them out) and I guess it was sort of „less bad“ to have them in terms of shame? to take them out and display them but touching them as less as possible because it’s a general thing I struggle with that minor „flaws“ I cause would make them feel less worthy to me. And now I‘m all into restyle and arrange etc. I do still struggle though but trying not to buy new ones or not liking them anymore because of things that are not visible but knowing it is there makes me crazy sometimes. As I mentioned I have this with other things, combining with me being a chaotic person. Well. Also struggle with pre owned dolls even if they look good but the thought they might be played with gives me an ick feeling. Also challenging that because I really got great dolls for very devent prices also they help because I have less anxiety about mess with their perfection. I‘m really looking fortward to get to a point to restore dolls skills wise and with those feeling because the thought of getting dolls that are not loved anymore and give them a new place, and if needed to fix them and making them shine again. I love that❤ sorry for this long babbling🙏🏻

I always complain about that Millie face mold is used by Mattel too often, so if Odile would be use much often, that's a win for me.

Wow! New person, here. Your thumbnail brought me in! Great show! My feeling is God, now dolls are made to look like they had plastic surgery? Our perfections , so to speak, give us character. They make us unique and special. Now it looks like they cannot show expression. Numbness- I guess people do not want to feel anything. Cookie- cutter. Robots. Kardashian excess and vapidity- fake people in a fake world. Whatever happened to authenticity? At least Barbie looked like the girl next door. Her features were still life-like and human. She could be glamorous if/ when she wanted to be. The new Odile is just good old fashioned conformity. The point I am trying to make is you can have Odile on the market as herself. However, do not mistake her as Beloved Barbie. That character, that role, and that place is already taken. In my humble opinion, of course.

Okay. .. Sure, you get a doll and three different fashions for $20 (which is STILL too much), but the doll has five points of articulation and the fashions & accessories are dreadful. Except for MAYBE the pink boots. And the face is probably pixelated to shit. C'mon, people. Don't give Mattel your money. Not for THIS!
