I sold my last boat at the end of October. Just picked up my new one last week. Had to wait for my voice to come back so I could get a video done on this one. Also, I’ve been traveling a lot for iKon. Lots of content coming from me in the near future. 👍🏻

Great boat..noticed the carpet on center rod locker door had a couple of wrinkles?
@ChuckPippinBassFishing6 ай бұрын
That was from a hydraulic fluid spill when we were rigging it for a commercial shoot. It’s been fixed since this video
@deatralocklear173 ай бұрын
Chuck can you get the back compartments fiberglassed finished instead of drop-ins if you don't need the chill system for the live well. Secondly, the carpet trim around the edges, is that the same type of rubber that Ranger use for their trim, and is easy to peel off? I noticed that Vexus uses metal strips for their carpet trim. I'm just curious concerning the long term. I'm really interested in the boat, if you had an answer for this I would appreciate it.
@ChuckPippinBassFishing3 ай бұрын
@@deatralocklear17 All iKon Boats have a fully finished liner from bow to stern, so the fiberglass underneath those drop in tubs is finished. However, there is a black composite close out wall that would make up the front & back of the compartment. The only model that has the rubber gasket around the rim of the carpet is the LX21. The rest have a seemed carpet edge. I don’t think it’s the same as what Ranger has. I’m on my second LX21 and haven’t had it come up at all.

Im interested in one, but I'm not sure about the size? How well does the 20 handle big water? Is there any difference in the number of rods you can carry between the 21 & 20? What is the difference between an LX & VLX? You make a beautiful boat. Thanks.
@ChuckPippinBassFishing6 ай бұрын
The LX20 is still a big boat at 20’10” with a 98” beam. It handles great in big water. It’s the model that Welcher & Shryock are running on the Elites. The VLX21 is 21’0” with a 98” beam. It’s a faster, lighter boat with some alternative options.

The left and right side rod lockers, why not have them open towards the front like Falcon bass boats???? That way you can take rods in or out from the outside of the boat and not have to climb in.
@ChuckPippinBassFishing5 ай бұрын
Our lids open all the way. No problem getting rods out.
@chestophercolumbo45615 ай бұрын
@ChuckPippinBassFishing yes, but to get rods in and out of the rod compartments, you have to climb into the boat, why not have the option to open the rod lockers like in the Falcon boat? At least make an option?

How is the power consumption on the apex? I am running 2 15 solix and 1 12 solix with live / tg lock and 360. I can’t stay in the 12v range for more then 3 hours. C clear power harness, dedicated run for live. 2 group 31 interstates in parallel.
@ChuckPippinBassFishing9 ай бұрын
I think it’s about the same with the Apex. I’m running two 12V lithiums for my house batteries, so I rarely see below 12.5v. If I’m correct, Humminbirds only require a minimum of 10.8V to operate properly. If you’re running AGM’s it’s just something that’s going to happen.
@ChuckPippinBassFishing9 ай бұрын
You can also try turning the backlighting down to 7 - 8. They draw way less amperage that way.

@ChuckPippinBassFishing11 ай бұрын
A passenger side console will be available but it’s still in development. Trying to make sure that it is light enough to be removable & manageable while still strong enough to last as long as the boat.

What prop and pitch are you running? I am running a fury 24 and its only turning 5500 rpm
@ChuckPippinBassFishing11 ай бұрын
Im also running a 24 Fury. There could be several factors as to why you’re only getting 5500 rpm’s… location & elevation, jack plate settings, too little battery weight if your boat is rigged with all lithium batteries (it can throw off the center of gravity), bad prop, and apparently (I’ve just learned) if you have too much lubricant in your lower unit, if it’s been serviced, it can slow your boat down. I can talk to you more about it if you go to my website at chucksguideservice.com. My contact info is there. Feel free to send me a text and I’ll call you back.

I work for iKon Boats. Yes, MSRP on this boat would be around $130k with all the added options and upgrades. That’s MSRP, though…. Doesn’t mean it would cost you that much.
@Basscater8111 ай бұрын
What’s MSRP on that rig?
@ChuckPippinBassFishing11 ай бұрын
Starting MSRP is $106k. Then, it just depends on what you put on it. This boat happens to have about $30k worth of aftermarket products on it. However, MSRP that iKon uses and NAP that other boat companies use are not the same. Generally, you’ll end up paying less than MSRP, while with most other boat companies you end up tacking on a lot more than NAP.

What Prop you running on it
@ChuckPippinBassFishing8 ай бұрын
I’m running a 3 blade Fury 24P. It seems to be the best overall prop. Some iKon owners are doing better with a 23P. Sometimes, the 23 seems to work better when the boats are at a higher elevation and/or overloaded with tackle & gear.

Ya I bought new one back in November- Live in Missouri- Love boat but 63-65 all I can get - Jackplate Atlas - 8-9 high as can go - 10 loose speed 5700 Rpm Any other suggestions on prop to use same setting to get few more Rpm’s ? Or what’s your Opinion 26 P Fury ? I bought it at Priemer Adv. Marine - Sunrise beach
@ChuckPippinBassFishing8 ай бұрын
@@bradrumfelt9893 you definitely don’t want a 26. If anything, you’d prop down to a 23P. What batteries are you running? AGM or lithium?

@@ChuckPippinBassFishing 3-12 s lithiums trolling and 2 - 12 s lithium on cranking and seemed little light in rear so I put a 50 lb ballast bag on both sides for weight - it’s pretty loaded with tackle .
@ChuckPippinBassFishing8 ай бұрын
@@bradrumfelt9893 it’s a balancing act with the center of gravity (CG). They’re tested at the factory with 320 - 390 lbs (4 or 5 AGM’s). If you have it pretty well loaded with tackle, you might need to add an additional 100 lbs to the battery compartment. 5700 rpm’s is decent for your elevation, but it sounds like it’s falling on its face.
